PDP NOW CLOSED FOR 2020; SUBMISSIONS FOR 2021 TO BE ACCEPTED SOON
The PGA of BC administration team thanks all members who participated in the 2020 Professional Development Program presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones, which is now closed to new submissions.

This year, 315 members earned points toward the PDP Order of Merit. We congratulate all Professionals on their commitment to professional development and betting their communities during a challenging 2020 season.

The administration team is now in the process of finalizing this year's PDP Order of Merit. The final standings, as well as our Top 100 Golf Professionals of 2020, will be revealed in early January.

Meanwhile, it's never too early to start thinking about earning points toward the 2021 PDP Order of Merit. Any professional-development undertakings from Dec. 1, 2020 through Nov. 30, 2021 will be eligible for credit toward the 2021 standings. The submission form for 2021 is not yet active but will begin accepting new submissions in the weeks ahead, so please ensure you retain supporting documentation for any eligible activities to submit alongside future requisitions.

CONSIDER RUNNING FOR POSITION ON PGA of BC BOARD OF DIRECTORS
As a reminder, a formal call for applications to run for a seat on the PGA of BC Board of Directors will be issued in January.

There will be four (4) openings on the board becoming available in 2021. The individuals filling those positions will be determined by a membership vote taking place in late January.

Regional quotas will be confirmed closer to the formal voting period, but at least one director elected in 2021 must be a Vancouver Island representative.

All positions are two-year terms. Candidates must be Class "A" Professionals in order to be considered.

APPLICATION WINDOW OPEN FOR PGA of CANADA FOUNDATION BURSARIES
Each year, the PGA of Canada Foundation awards bursaries to assist, encourage and promote the attainment of professional development opportunities.

Bursary applications are now being accepted to help subsidize the cost of any professional-development undertakings you may have completed within the past year.

These bursaries are in the amount of $500 each, with a maximum of 20 awarded nationwide each year. They are available to all members, contingent upon a Golf Professional completing one or more professional-development opportunities in 2020. Last year, six PGA of BC Professionals were awarded bursaries through this initiative.

Please note that members still working towards their Class "A" designation may not apply for a bursary to offset the cost of PGA of Canada Training Academy courses or programs. There are no restrictions for Class "A" members.

Click below to access the application form and learn more about the initiative. Applications must be received by Jan. 29, 2021, with bursaries to be awarded in March.
