LAST CHANCE TO REGISTER FOR PGA of BC SPRING EDUCATION SEMINAR
Members are advised that registration closes Friday for the 2021 PGA of BC Spring Education Seminar, which will be conducted virtually Feb. 8-9.

Thanks to the efforts of the PGA of BC Education Committee, the seminar will once again feature a variety of subject matter relevant to all members, delivered by some of the leading minds and experts in our sport.

The seven presentations comprising this year’s seminar will cover topics that include golf instruction, club management, enhancing facilities’ offerings for patrons, statistical analysis, online coaching and more.

Please note a change to the presenter schedule, which will now feature acclaimed coach Chris Como's session to open the program on Feb. 8, and PGA of Canada Professional Alex Riggs sharing his insights as the first presenter on Feb. 9.

Monday's lineup will include presentations from golf-media personality Matt Ginella, renowned golf statistician Lou Stagner and a session conducted jointly by TPI Fitness Advisory Board co-director Lance Gill and Jason Baile, Director of Instruction at Florida’s Jupiter Hills Club.

Elite-level coach Terry Rowles will share his expertise with members as part of Tuesday's schedule, which will also feature a talk delivered by Henry DeLozier, a principal with GGA Partners.

The seminar itinerary has also been designed to accommodate those wishing to participate in the PGA of Canada Tee Talks Digital Series session that will be held Feb. 9. With more than 125 PGA of BC Professionals already registered to attend, this will once again be a can't-miss event.

Registration is open now and is priced at $99 (plus GST) for PGA of BC members. Non-members are welcome to register for $149 (plus GST) and with the reference of a Class “A” member. Registration will close at 4 p.m. PT on Feb. 5.

MUNCIE BOOTH NAMED FIRST RECIPIENT OF NEW NATIONAL AWARD
Muncie Booth (McCleery Golf Course) was named the inaugural recipient of the PGA of Canada's Warren Crosbie Community Leader of the Year Award during last week's virtual National Awards ceremony.

Booth received the honour in recognition of his work leading the Inner City Youth Program for more than 20 years. The initiative, which introduces underprivileged Vancouver children to our sport free of charge, has welcomed more than 1,000 girls and boys since its inception.

The PGA of BC extends its congratulations to Booth on this much-deserved honour!

EDUCATION SERIES RESUMES THURSDAY WITH CLAY STOTHERS
Members are reminded that they PGA of BC's 2021 Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada resumes Thursday, Feb. 4 with another member-led presentation.

Building upon his 2020 Education Series talk on alignment and rotation, Clay Stothers (The Okanagan Golf Club) will continue the conversation toward sequencing, applied pressure and matchups in his talk scheduled for 1 p.m. PT.

All registered participants have been sent the details on joining Thursday's session; please contact the administration team if this info did not arrive in your inbox. Member registration for individual sessions is priced at $10 (plus GST) each. The Education Series Pass, a member-exclusive offer granting access to all seven remaining sessions with a single registration, is $70 (plus GST). Non-members are welcome to attend any workshop of the series, with a reference from a Class “A” Professional, for $20 (plus GST).

Please note that registration fees do not include recorded sessions posted to the Education Series Archive. Registration for all individual sessions closes at 12:00 p.m. PT the day prior.

PGA of BC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING SET FOR FEB. 8
Members are advised that the Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association of British Columbia will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021, beginning at 4:00 p.m. PT.
 
This meeting will take place in a virtual setting for the following purposes:
 
  1. To receive the financial statements of the Association for the period ended November 30, 2020, and the auditor’s report thereon;
  2. To appoint auditors for the ensuing year, and to authorize the directors to fix their remuneration;
  3. To pass motion to vote in new directors of the Association;
  4. To approve all acts, deeds and proceedings of the directors since the last Annual General Meeting;
  5. To transact such other business as may properly come before the meeting or any adjournment thereof.
 
Pre-registration for the AGM is not required; all members will receive information on how to join the virtual meeting by email at approximately 12 p.m. PT on Monday. Please be reminded that the AGM is open only to PGA of BC members. Apprentice Professionals are encouraged to attend, but please note that only Class "A" Professionals are eligible to vote on motions. 
 
Should any PGA of BC Member require a copy of the Association’s Audited Financial Statements in advance of the Annual General Meeting, please contact the PGA of BC office to obtain a copy.

GOLFEXPO SEEKING VIDEO SUBMISSIONS FROM PGA of BC MEMBERS
PGA of BC members are reminded that the British Columbia GOLFEXPO is providing an opportunity to submit pre-recorded videos featuring instruction tips and/or lessons for the event, which is being held online Feb. 26-28.

Videos will be included as part of the event's PGA of BC Seminar Stage and/or the BC GOLFEXPO YouTube Channel. They will also be promoted through the BC GOLFEXPO’s social-media channels and e-newsletter database.

Videos must be in a downloadable format (Google Drive or Dropbox preferred). Each video can include promotion and call to action (website, email address, phone number) of your instruction business in the video. Videos can range from 5 minutes up to 30 minutes each.

The BC GOLFEXPO will determine how to best use each video to promote them to consumers attending the BC GOLFEXPO Online. The BC GOLFEXPO Online is no charge to consumers and will be a great opportunity to promote your golf instruction business. Members submitting videos can also receive PDP credit.
