IN MEMORIAM: PATRICK DUNN
The PGA of BC regrets to share that Life Professional Patrick Dunn passed away earlier this month.

Dunn, who won the 2000 and 2002 PGA of BC Pro-Executive Championships and served as long-time Head Professional at Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club and McCleery Golf Course, passed Saturday, January 21. He was 72.

Dunn is survived by his mother Bertha Dunn, wife Jacqueline Dunn, son Patrick and daughter Kat Rosene. The PGA of BC extends its sympathies to Dunn’s family, friends and industry colleagues during this difficult time.

PGA OF BC RELEASES 2023 CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE
The PGA of BC is proud to announce its 2023 tournament schedule. After returning to a full schedule slate for the 2022 season, all eight of the Association’s traditional championship events will be held again this year.

Registration for all events will open on Monday, April 3 at 9 a.m. PT. Please be advised that spaces in each field are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis for those meeting all eligibility criteria.
SCOTT COWX ADDED TO 2023 SPRING EDUCATION SEMINAR LINEUP
The PGA of BC is pleased to announce Scott Cowx, Head Teaching Professional at The Pulpit Club, 2019 PGA of Canada George Knudson Teacher of the Year, and leading expert in swing biomechanics, as a speaker at the Association’s 2023 Spring Education Seminar.

His continued work with PGA Tour Professionals and Canada's top ranked Amateurs, as well as his research into motor skill development and implementation at the highest levels, has brought Cowx international attention. Cowx combines cutting edge technology with precise swing geometry and efficient biomechanics.
PGA OF CANADA NATIONAL BOARD ELECTIONS
The PGA of Canada National Board of Directors is seeking a candidate for the upcoming Board of Directors' Election to fill an open British Columbia position for a three-year term. Our current representative, Scott Kolb, is re-running for his seat on the board, however all candidates are encouraged to run. Kolb currently serves as the Vice-President of the board.

CALL FOR PGA OF BC CAREER ADVISORY PROGRAM MENTORS
The PGA of BC Career Advisory Program offers the opportunity for Class “A” members to gain valuable Professional Development Points mentoring new Association members.

Interested parties are kindly asked to complete a short survey, helping the Association’s Administration Team to build a pool of qualified expertise to help bolster the mentorship initiative. As a mentor, members will be able to earn 2 PDP points per mentee (up to a maximum of 4 points). The survey can be found HERE.

Did you know that the upcoming Western GOLFEXPO held February 24 & 25 in Abbotsford is seeking Association Professionals interested in speaking and volunteering at the event?

Friday and Saturday slots are available. PGA of BC Members can earn Professional Development Points for their participation. This is an opportunity for Professionals to share their insights and expertise with their peers, network and participate in one of the largest golf events on the West Coast in 2023.
