Members are reminded of the opportunity to vote in the PGA of BC Board of Directors election, which is ongoing until Monday.

There are four (4) positions available, each of which will consist of a two-year term expiring at the 2023 Annual General Meeting.

Due to the Board's current composition, there are no regional representation quotas to be addressed via this election. As such, the candidates receiving the four highest vote totals will be elected to the board vacancies.

Thirteen (13) candidates have put their names forward for the open positions (listed alphabetically):

To vote, click on the link below, read the biographical information provided by each candidate, fill out the required information and submit the ballot. Each member may vote for up to four (4) candidates but may only submit one (1) ballot. Any additional ballots will void all ballots.

Your PGA of Canada membership number will be verified before your vote is recorded. Please note that all PGA of BC membership categories may vote for positions on the Board of Directors, including Apprentice Professionals. To be eligible to cast a ballot, voters must be members in good standing. Voter confidentiality will be strictly maintained and personal information is collected only for the purpose of determining voter eligibility.

In closing, the Board would like to remind candidates that mass emailing or lobbying for member votes is highly discouraged. Votes should be the initiative of each individual member and candidates should respect their voting rights.

The official voting period will end at 12:00 p.m. PT on Monday, Jan. 25, 2021. Click below to access the ballot.

Registration is now open for the 2021 PGA of BC Spring Education Seminar, which will be conducted virtually Feb. 8-9.

Thanks to the efforts of the PGA of BC Education Committee, the seminar will once again feature a variety of subject matter relevant to all members, delivered by some of the leading minds and experts in our sport.

The seven presentations comprising this year’s seminar will cover topics that include golf instruction, club management, enhancing facilities’ offerings for patrons, statistical analysis, online coaching and more.

The Day 1 schedule will include presentations from golf-media personality Matt Ginella, Dubai-based PGA of Canada Professional Alex Riggs, renowned golf statistician Lou Stagner, and a session conducted jointly by TPI Fitness Advisory Board co-director Lance Gill and Jason Baile, Director of Instruction at Florida’s Jupiter Hills Club.

Acclaimed coaches Terry Rowles and Chris Como will share their expertise with members as part of the Day 2 schedule, which will also feature a talk delivered by Henry DeLozier, a principal with GGA Partners. In a unique opportunity for members, Como will be answering pre-submitted questions from PGA of BC Professionals, while Rowles will close the event with a two-hour session.

The seminar itinerary has also been designed to accommodate those wishing to participate in the PGA of Canada Tee Talks Digital Series session that will be held Feb. 9.

EDUCATION SERIES BEGINS WITH GREAT TURNOUT, RESUMES THURSDAY
The PGA of BC's 2021 Education Series presented by Foresight Sports Canada continued yesterday with a well-attended panel of Association members detailing their facilities' approaches to COVID-19.

Moderator Greg Pool (Northview Golf & Country Club) and panelists Steve Haggard (The Springs at Radium), Bill Kelly (Crown Isle Resort & Golf Community) and Drew Scollon (Point Grey Golf & Country Club) shared great insights on their efforts to safeguard patrons and staff amid public-health concerns, while more than 130 attendees also participated in side discussions on their clubs' pandemic experiences. Thanks once more to our panel for facilitating Tuesday's discussions.

Members are reminded that the third installment of the 2021 Education Series will take place tomorrow:

Thursday, Jan. 21 at 1 p.m. PT – Erin MacAngus-Marshall, Dale Carnegie Training of BC

Non-members are welcome to attend any workshop of the series, with a reference from a Class “A” Professional, for $20 (plus GST).

Please note that registration fees do not include recorded sessions posted to the Education Series Archive. As well, please be advised that sessions administered by Dale Carnegie Training of BC will not be made available for later viewing.

Registration for all individual sessions closes at 12:00 p.m. PT the day prior. Information on joining each session will be sent to each registrant by email in the afternoon prior to each scheduled session.

Please be reminded that the PGA of Canada's Tee Talks Live Digital Series continues on Jan. 26 as well.
