PXG JOINS AS PRESENTING SPONSOR OF SPRING EDUCATION SEMINAR
The Association has proudly introduced  PXG  as presenting sponsor of the 2019 PGA of BC Spring Education Seminar taking place Feb. 11-12 at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course.

In addition to its generous support of the Spring Education Seminar, PXG will be a Silver-level Preferred Partner of the PGA of BC through the end of the 2019 season.

PXG is a performance-focused brand that has made a significant mark on the golf industry with its unique approach to the development of premier clubs and custom fitting. Founded five years ago by businessman and philanthropist Bob Parsons with the goal of manufacturing the world’s best golf equipment, PXG proudly counts a number of top PGA Tour and LPGA Tour players amongst its Professional staff, including major championship winners Zach Johnson, Lydia Ko and Charl Schwartzel.

This year’s Spring Education Seminar will once again feature a renowned lineup of industry experts delivering informative and entertaining talks on topics of relevance to all Golf Professionals. Among this year’s featured presenters is PXG ambassador and acclaimed instructor Gabriel Hjertstedt, a two-time PGA Tour winner who will detail his transition from touring pro to coach, as well as his approach to scoring aspects and short-game play, in his headlining talk on Feb. 11.

REGISTRATION CLOSES FRIDAY FOR SPRING EDUCATION SEMINAR
Members are reminded that Friday, Feb. 1 is the deadline to register for the 2019 PGA of BC Spring Education Seminar presented by PXG.

Our signature professional-development event will be returning to Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course on Feb. 11-12 with a variety of great presentations relevant to all Golf Professionals on the schedule.

Approximately 160 PGA of BC members and guests are currently signed up to attend, so this year's seminar is once again shaping up to be a memorable, can't-miss event.

Acclaimed instructors Gabriel Hjertstedt and Joseph Mayo will headline the annual gathering, conducting half-day presentations to close out the schedule on Day 1 and 2, respectively. Other featured presenters include Victoria-based chiropractor Dr. Stuart Love , who works closely with many top PGA Tour players; Tom Mayenknecht of Vancouver-based brand-builders Embematica and TSN Radio's "The Sport Market"; and Golf Canada rules guru Adam Helmer looking at the changes to the Rules of Golf now in effect. As well, Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club Head Professional Alan Palmer and father Denzil Palmer , who served more than 25 years as GM at Royal Montreal Golf Club, will make a joint presentation on the evolution of premier golf facilities.

The seminar also represents a key opportunity to earn points toward the Professional Development Program Order of Merit presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones. Members will receive eight (8) PDP points for each day they attend and sign in at seminar registration. The Top 100 Golf Professionals of 2018 list featured 85 members who attended at least one day of the seminar last year.

FACT OF THE WEEK
The PGA of BC administration team provides photo portraits in front of our Association-branded backdrop as a complimentary service to our Golf Professionals.

Dozens of members like Copper Point Golf Club Executive Professional  Brian Schaal  (pictured) took advantage of this opportunity during last year's Spring Education Seminar. These photos are ideal for use on your club website, social media channels and personal profiles. The Association also keeps these images on file for use in PGA of BC marketing and communications when needed.

We will once again be taking portraits at the Spring Education Seminar and encourage all attendees to have their photo taken, or to update a past photo. If you had your portrait taken at a past PGA of BC event and wish to obtain your copy, please contact Communications & Marketing Manager Eric MacKenzie at  eric@pgabc.org .
