KOZAK, ANDERSON TAKE ASSISTANTS' & SENIORS' CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES
Conner Kozak and Rob Anderson each fired 5-under-par final rounds of 67 Tuesday at Kamloops Golf & Country Club to win the PGA of BC Assistants’ & Seniors’ Championships presented by Natera Sport & Arbor Memorial, respectively.

Kozak (The Okanagan Golf Club) matched the 67 he shot in Monday’s opening round to capture the Assistants’ Championship and the top prize of $3,000 at 10-under-par, finishing two strokes clear of Keith Martin (Tower Ranch Golf Club) and Zach Olson (Chilliwack Golf Club). It's the 28-year-old's first PGA of BC title.

Anderson’s 67 Tuesday was the low round of the Seniors’ Championship as the Kelowna Golf & Country Club Head Professional made four birdies over his last six holes to secure a five-stroke victory at 6-under. Playing the event for PGA of BC Professionals aged 50 and older for the first time, Anderson took home $1,400 and will have his name etched on the Ben Colk Trophy. Peter Kenneford (Creston Golf Club) was the only other player to finish under par, closing with a 68 to reach 1-under for the event.

The immaculate conditions at Kamloops Golf & Country Club were the talk of the tournament, with players raving about the quality of the greens over both days. The PGA of BC thanks host Professional Alec Hubert and the entire team of staff and volunteers at the club for their outstanding hospitality.

Further thanks go to presenting sponsors Natera Sport for its continued support of these championships and Arbor Memorial for its on-site presence and a prize draw for competitors on Monday.

PGA of BC PROFESSIONAL SPOTLIGHT -- BRIAN SCHAAL
Executive Professional, Copper Point Golf Club

PGA of Canada member since: 1992

What career path led you to where you are today?
The San Diego Golf Academy covered all aspects of running a golf facility and fully prepared me to have the confidence to accept a Head Professional position back in 2000.

Who has influenced your career the most, and how?
It started off with Jim Wilkinson, the Director of Student Affairs at the San Diego Golf Academy. He told me if I really wanted to know the business of golf to go work at a resort, a public course, a semi-private course and a private club, which in turn I did. Neil Green at Kokanee Springs, Sandy Kurceba at Morningstar, Kerry Davison at Nanaimo and Bruce Murray at Shaughnessy. Lastly John Lagadin at Copper Point who educated me on how to run any business and to always do the right thing!

Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of?
Personally: Having a wonderful family with my wife Corrie, daughter Alexandra and son Luke. Professionally: Having Copper Point named in the Top 100 Golf Courses in Canada and named the 2019 PGA of BC Facility of the Year, as well as being selected as the PGA of Canada's 2019 Dick Munn Executive Professional of the Year.

What is your most cherished golf memory?
Caddying for Lucas Glover in the 2011 Telus Skins Game at Banff Springs. He won five skins for $125,000 on the 18th hole. I told him where to hit his tee shot and what club to hit into the green; he then drained the eagle putt.
