On behalf of the PGA of BC, its members, and its other stakeholders, I would like to thank Jared Siminoff for stepping up and filling the role of Interim Executive Director these past five months. Jared has done an excellent job in pursuing some of the initial priorities given to him by the Executive, in making needed preparations for the 2023 season, and has been a huge help in transitioning the association towards a successful future. His efforts are greatly appreciated and we thank him for his positive impact.

SIGN UP FOR CANUCKS JUNIOR GOLF WEEK
Registration for Canucks Junior Golf Week closes next week and we encourage all interested parties to sign up today! Facilities and professionals wanting to host a Canucks Junior Golf Week event can register through our online portal available here.
Canucks Junior Golf Week is open to children and youth aged 5-17 years at golf facilities throughout British Columbia. Participants will effectively learn the game of golf through certified PGA of BC-instructed, single-day camps in their respective communities.
The program will take place July 10-17 in dozens of communities throughout British Columbia. Last year, we had over 600 kids at more than 30 golf facilities as we returned from COVID. We have nearly 25 facilities already signed up this season. This year, we are looking to grow the program to over 750 junior golfers at over 30 golf facilities.
The cost for a one-day camp during the 2023 Canucks Junior Golf Week is only $20 (+GST), which includes equipment rental (if required), facility fees, a Vancouver Canucks-branded gift, and certified golf instruction. The length of each camp varies depending on the host facility, the number of attendees and the general age of the participants, however camps are estimated on average to run for approximately 60-90 minutes.
For more information, please contact Programs Manager Dan Czerwenka at dan@pgabc.org.

The Golfathon, which sees professionals play as many consecutive rounds as possible from dawn until dusk, attracts donations in support of competing professionals. All donations go towards the ALS Society of BC and their mission to cure ALS through funding research, while advocating for and supporting those living with ALS.
To date, the initiative has raised $2,547,720 over 17 years! This funding goes towards several supports. The Equipment Loan program provides mobility equipment, lift equipment, beds & accessories, communication devices, and bathroom aids if needed. All equipment loaned is available at no charge to registered ALS patient members. Money raised also goes towards: support groups; psychological treatment services; Camp Alohi Lani, a youth summer camp for those with relatives living with ALS; and PROJECT HOPE, which raises money to fund an ALS research centre at UBC.
