LEE CONTINUES TO LEAD PDP ORDER OF MERIT; MORGAN MAKES A MOVE
|
Although no new names appear among the top five following this month's update to the Professional Development Program (PDP) Order of Merit, there has been a minor shakeup to the standings.
Lee J.H. Lee
(GolfTEC Richmond) continues to hold a commanding lead with 57 points accumulated this year.
Doug Morgan
(Richmond Country Club), meanwhile, has jumped up to the No. 2 position after adding a number of points via extracurricular education, reaching a total of 37. Morgan's move up the standings means
Nathan Grieve
(Talking Rock Golf Course, 36 points) now sits third, followed by
Steve Liddicoat
(University Golf Club, 32 points) and
Doug Hastie
(British Columbia Golf, 30 points).
Members are reminded to make submissions for PDP points, especially if they completed any education or professional-development pursuits in 2020, and to send supporting documentation by email to
pdp@pgabc.org
. Click below to view the updated PDP Order of Merit, to make a submission or learn more about the program.
Please note that the PDP page of our website has recently undergone an update to make the content more easily accessible. The link below will direct you to the main PDP page, which includes current standings and program information. The PDP point schedule and requisition form is now hosted on a separate page, accessible from the main page. Both pages can also be navigated to under the "Membership" drop-down menu at pgabc.org.

GOLFATHON FOR ALS COMING SOON TO PGA of BC FACILITIES
|
With June quickly approaching, that means the PGA of BC Golfathon for ALS presented by Pacific Blue Cross will be taking place at golf facilities across the province over the next several weeks.
Each June, PGA of BC members across the province play from sunrise to sunset with the goal of playing as many holes as possible in one day, lending their muscles in honour of those who have lost the use of theirs to the deadly disease. The initiative is heading into its 15th year, with the cumulative total of funds raised to support ALS patients and their families poised to eclipse $2 million this year.
It's not too late for your facility to get involved in this tremendous cause. PGA of BC members interested in registering their course to participate in this year's Golfathon are asked to contact ALS Society of BC Executive Director
Wendy Toyer
at
w.toyer@alsbc.org
.

This past Monday would have marked the start of our 2020 competition calendar, as the PGA of BC Tournament of Champions was scheduled for May 25 at Nanaimo Golf Club prior to its cancellation due to public-health concerns.
Although we are disappointed to not be contesting the Tournament of Champions this year, we are spending this week celebrating past highlights from the event, such as the history-making wins involving
Matthew Palsenbarg
(Point Grey Golf & Country Club) over the past two years pictured here.
Follow along with these tournament memories via our posts on
Facebook
and
Twitter
, as well as our Stories on Instagram. Look for more of these past highlights next week as we reflect on our Assistants' & Seniors' Championships' histories.
Don't forget that you can explore the details of past PGA of BC competitions via our
Championship History Hub
, which includes results and info from all eight of our active championships dating back several decades.
