REMINDER: NOV. 30 DEADLINE FOR PDP SUBMISSIONS
Members are reminded that Saturday, Nov. 30 will be the final day to make requisitions for points to count towards their 2019 totals in the PGA of BC Professional Development Program (PDP) Order of Merit presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones .

Submissions must be received by 4 p.m. PT on Nov. 30 in order to be considered.

Furthermore, members are advised that any point requisitions must be accompanied by supporting documentation to verify the undertakings for which points are requested. Supporting documents must be sent by email to pdp@pgabc.org , and received by the above deadline for consideration.

Final tabulations for the PDP Order of Merit will take place after the deadline, with the results determining those earning the distinction of being among the province's Top 100 Golf Professionals for 2019. Points earned for participation in PGA of Canada-sanctioned events including Tee Talks Live and the Head Professional Championship of Canada, and by the recipients of any national awards, will be automatically included in the final tabulations.

PGA of BC SEEKING MEMBERSHIP & EVENTS MANAGER
The PGA of British Columbia has an opening for a full-time Membership & Events Manager to join the Association’s Administration team.

The ideal candidate will have pertinent experience in event and data management. He or she must be an organized, detail-oriented with excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective self-management and self-motivation capabilities. Candidates must be comfortable dispensing friendly and accurate customer service. Experience within the golf industry, conducting golf events and familiarity with tournament golf are strong assets for this position.

The PGA of BC will have a large contingent of Professionals down in Arizona next week to compete in the PGA Head Professional Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf.

Seventeen PGA of BC members are among the 90 players set to vie for the title over 54 holes at The Wigwam Golf Resort Dec. 3-5. That includes defending champion Brian McDonald (Fairview Mountain Golf Club, pictured), who captured last year's event at the same venue to give British Columbia its first victory in the tournament in a decade. Matthew Palsenbarg (The Tour LAB @ Northview), who was the runner-up to McDonald by five strokes in 2018, will also be among those competing. Meanwhile, 2008 winner Kyle German (Bald Eagle Golf Club) will make his first appearance in the event since 2010.

A record total of 424 PGA of BC Professionals logged points in the Association's Professional Development Program last year -- a mark that could be surpassed this year when the final tabulations are calculated in the weeks ahead.

With just a few days left before Saturday's 2019 PDP submission deadline, 412 members currently appear on the program's Order of Merit presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones.
