IMPORTANT BUYING SHOW INFORMATION FOR PGA of BC MEMBERS
The PGA of BC Buying Show opens Wednesday at Richmond Olympic Oval, with 75 exhibitors and representatives from nearly 150 PGA of BC facilities registered to attend the two-day event running Oct. 16-17. 

If you have not yet provided the names of all PGA of BC members and non-member buyers who will be representing your facility, please send them to  donald@pgabc.org  as soon as possible to expedite the check-in process upon arrival.

RECIPIENTS OF SIX PGA of BC AWARDS NAMED
The PGA of BC is proud to name four recipients of the Association's 2019 Awards, as well as this year's PGA of BC Community Leadership Bursary and Jim Gibson Scholarship beneficiaries.

Congratulations to the following honourees on their selections:

  • Gordon Mink (Hi-Knoll Golf Centre) - Dunc Sutherland Distinguished Service Award presented by DGL Sports Enterprises Ltd.
  • Odlum Brown Limited - Jim Gibson Patron of the Year Award
  • Bryn Parry (Seymour Creek Golf Centre) - Stan Leonard Player of the Year Award presented by Steve Nash Fitness World & Sports Clubs
  • The Sunday Morning Golf Show - Arv Olson Media Personnel of the Year Award
  • Myles Johnson - PGA of BC Community Leadership Bursary

BRYN PARRY TOPS 2019 PGA of BC ORDER OF MERIT
Bryn Parry's outstanding 2019 competition campaign ended with the Seymour Creek Golf Centre Professional overtaking top spot on the PGA of BC Order of Merit in the final eligible event.

Parry's T2 finish in the G&G Tour Championship Wednesday moved him into the lead for the season with 120.83 points for the year. He edged Philip Jonas (Philip Jonas Golf Academy) for top spot, as Jonas ended the season with 116.50 points.

Another strong season from Kevin Stinson saw the Cheam Mountain Golf Course member place third in the standings with 101.33 points. Luke Bogdan (Ledgeview Golf Club, 84.33) and Finlay Young (The Harvest Golf Club, 73.33) rounded out the top five.

OFFICE CLOSURE NOTICE
Please be advised that the PGA of BC administration office will be closed Oct. 14-17.

The office will be closed Monday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, and Tuesday through Thursday while the administration team is on-site at Richmond Olympic Oval for the PGA of BC Buying Show. Please note that E-News will not be issued next week accordingly.

Regular office hours will resume Friday, Oct. 18 at 8 a.m. PT. The PGA of BC wishes all a safe and happy holiday weekend.
CONGRATULATIONS
The PGA of BC's competition season is officially at a close with the last two regional tours completing their respective Tour Championships this week.

Luke Bogdan (Ledgeview Golf Club, pictured) captured the Lower Mainland's G&G Tour Championship, posting the low round on both days of the event held Monday at The Vancouver Golf Club and Wednesday at Kings Links by the Sea. Bogdan's back-to-back 68s left him with an 8-under-par total and a three-stroke victory. He picked up $425 for the win. A two-way tie for second place saw Bryn Parry (Seymour Creek Golf Centre) and Jonnie Motomochi (Morgan Creek Golf Course) finishing at 5-under and taking home $375 each.

Philip Jonas (Philip Jonas Golf Academy) topped the tour's 2019 Order of Merit, with Parry ranking second and Bogdan finishing third.

In the Interior PGA Tour's Championship held Monday at The Harvest Golf Club, Lionel Taylor (Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club) rose to the top of a tight leaderboard to take the victory. Taylor carded a 3-under-par 69 to earn the one-stroke win and collect $650. Runner-up honours were shared at 2-under by Finlay Young (The Harvest Golf Club) and Cody Bell (Sunset Ranch Golf & Country Club), who pocketed $425 apiece.

The tour's season-long Order of Merit wrapped up with Young in first place, followed by Ethan Danish (Two Eagles Golf Course & Academy) in second and Bell in third.

Members are reminded that signing in at registration is required in order to obtain Professional Development Program (PDP) points for attending next week's Buying Show and Awards Celebration.

Sign-in is required on both days of the Buying Show. Members earn four (4) PDP points for each day of Buying Show attendance, and two (2) points for Awards Celebration attendance.

Points will not be added retroactively for those who fail to sign in; no exceptions will be made.
