BLAIR OVERTAKES LEAD IN LAST PDP UPDATE BEFORE FINAL TABULATION
With a little more than one month left to settle the 2020 Professional Development Program (PDP) Order of Merit presented by Sunice & Bobby Jones, a two-horse race has broken out at Talking Rock Golf Course.

Executive Professional Adam Blair and Head Professional Nathan Grieve now sit first and second in the rankings, respectively. Blair, who has accumulated 92 points for the season, is looking to become the first Professional to top the PDP Order of Merit twice, having ranked first during the 2016 campaign. Grieve has been a mainstay in the top three throughout the 2020 season and sits just three back of Blair with 89 points.

Lee J.H. Lee (GolfTEC Richmond) has now slipped to third place with 74 points. He is joined in the top five by Matthew Steinbach (Simon Fraser University, 70 points) and Padraic O'Rourke (The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club, 65 points).

Please note that all points resulting from participation in the PGA of BC Buying Show and its Education Stage sessions, as well as the 2020 PGA of BC Awards Program, have now been added to the rankings. This will be the final update to the rankings before our final totals, as well as the Top 100 Golf Professionals of 2020, are revealed in January.

As of this update, 58 points is the cutoff for a top-10 ranking, while members holding at least 27 points are currently ranked inside the Top 100.

Members are reminded that all requisitions for PDP points to be considered for 2020 must be made by Nov. 30. Requisitions must be accompanied by supporting documents sent by email to [email protected], which also must be received no later than Nov. 30. Points earned for receipt of any national awards and participation in any regional tour events to be played before the end of November will be included in the final tabulation.

REMINDER: PGA of CANADA MEMBERSHIP DUES DEADLINE
Members are reminded of the Nov. 1 deadline to pay their 2021 PGA of Canada annual membership dues.

Please note that dues invoices are no longer issued by regular mail and are now available online via each member's PGA of Canada profile.

Those who have not paid or set up a payment plan by Nov. 1 will be subject to a $125 late-fee penalty that is due Dec. 31 alongside any remaining balance. If payment is not received by Jan. 1, the member will be moved to the suspended category and will be subject to an additional reinstatement fee of $450 plus tax and a police-record check.

Please note that the deadline to establish a payment plan has now passed. Click below for full details on dues payments and how to access your invoice online.

For any members uncertain about their employment or plans for 2021, please be reminded that a full refund of dues can be requested if resigning before April 1, less a $20 administration fee. Refunds are also offered on a pro-rated basis from April through the end of June.

Please direct any inquiries related to membership dues to PGA of Canada Managing Director of Membership & Support Services Darcy Kral at [email protected].
IDEAS & VOLUNTEERS WELCOMED FOR 2021 EDUCATION EVENTS
Although the golf season has come to a close in many parts of the province, the Association's education events through the winter and early spring are fast approaching.

Through the PGA of BC's Spring Education Seminar and Education Series events, we are committed to providing a forum for members to expand their knowledge on important topics by learning from experts in their field -- in golf operations, instruction, business, management and more.

We encourage members interested in sharing their expertise with their colleagues to put their names forward as an Education Series presenter. Six out of the nine presentations conducted during the 2020 Education Series were made by PGA of BC Professionals, and we strive to have our members involved in educating their fellow Professionals wherever possible. Please feel welcome to submit a proposal to speak on a specified topic or area of knowledge, and to work with the PGA of BC administration team to narrow your focus for a presentation to your peers.

Given the uncertainty around whether our educational gatherings can proceed in their traditional format due to public-health circumstances, we welcome proposals and topic ideas that can be presented both virtually and in person.

If there is a particular topic you'd like to see covered, or a certain speaker whose expertise you feel would be of benefit to our Professionals, suggestions are always welcomed to ensure these educational opportunities are serving you best. Please contact Membership & Events Manager Doug Titterington at [email protected] with any pitches or suggestions.
