FINAL REMINDER - PGA of CANADA DEADLINE FOR DUES IS NOV. 1
|
|
Members are reminded of the Nov. 1 deadline to complete payment of 2023 PGA of Canada membership dues to avoid late fees and suspension.
All members whose dues have not been received in full by Nov. 1, or who have not set up a payment plan in advance, will be subject to late-payment fees. Those paying their dues in full by Nov. 1 via cash, cheque or online banking will be eligible to win one of three PGA of Canada gift cards -- one valued at $1,000 and two worth $750 -- that can be redeemed for any PGA of Canada or Zone service, including tournament registrations, education and professional-development undertakings or future membership dues.
Late payments submitted by Jan. 1 will include a $125 penalty. Those who have not completed payment by Jan. 1 will be placed in the suspended category and will be subject to a reinstatement fee of up to $450 plus tax, in addition to a mandatory background check.
As well, all Professionals are reminded that dues notices are now delivered online. Click here to access your invoice; PGA of Canada website login is required.
Those unsure of their plans for 2023 are reminded that a full refund of dues can be obtained if resigning from the Association by April 1, while pro-rated refunds are available between April 2 and June 30.

PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON BUYING SHOW & AWARDS CELEBRATION
|

Thank you to all members and other guests who participated in 2022 PGA of BC Buying Show at the Richmond Olympic Oval.
Thanks also to those members who volunteered their time to help make the Buying Show and Awards Celebration great events: Gordon Mink, Alec Hubert, Derek Orr, Jeff Palmer, Derek Whipple, Graham Ogden, Michael Thompson, Vaughn Marshall, Courtney Campbell-Leveck, and Tyler Roope.
Additionally, we'd like to thank our members and guests who participated in education sessions held on the Foresight Sports Canada Education Stage: Chris Ward, Stephanie Wong, Trevor West, Meegan West, and Scott Kolb.
With more than 50 exhibitors and another strong turnout of attendees -- more than 125 golf facilities and retailers were represented -- the Buying Show continued its trend of year-to-year growth.
However, the Association is always looking to improve upon the event each year, and your feedback is crucial to enhancing the Buying Show and Awards Celebration experience. To help with this, all members are asked to complete a short survey to share their thoughts on the events.
Click below to access our member survey on the Buying Show and Awards Celebration. Please note that your feedback is helpful even if you did not attend either event. Each survey respondent will receive a set of questions applicable to their attendance or non-attendance at the Buying Show and Awards Celebration. The administration team thanks you for sharing your insights on these gatherings.

PGA of BC PROFESSIONAL SPOTLIGHT -- NATE OLLIS
|
Apprentice Professional, Cordova Bay Golf Course
Member Since: 2017
What is the most rewarding part about being a member of the PGA of BC?
The positive impact that we can have on others in our communities. Some of the most influential people in my life have been PGA of BC members!
Which significant accomplishments are you most proud of?
I’d say the captaincy of the UBC Thunderbirds Men’s Golf Team and my 2022 PGA of BC Championship Title
If you had to share one piece of advice with a new member of our Association, what would it be?
Try Everything. Learn as much about the different parts of our industry as you can to find what you’re best at and most passionate about.
What is an interesting fact about yourself that doesn't involve golf?
I was scouted (very briefly) by the Vancouver Whitecaps when I was about 13. Safe to say it came to nothing in the end, but was pretty cool at the time.
