|
Earlier this week, the Association was proud to announce the regional recipients in 11 categories of the 2019 PGA of BC Awards, for which membership voting is now open.
to see the full list of Regional Award Recipients.
Those being honoured were determined through an open nomination process and by regional committees comprised of Class "A" Professionals over the past several weeks. Each of the individuals and facilities recognized regionally are now finalists for their respective provincial awards.
PGA of BC Members are invited to vote for their preferred candidate in each category. Member Professionals can click below to access the online ballot. Each member is permitted to cast one ballot indicating their finalist of choice in each award category. Please pay particular attention to the criteria for each award, as well as the nominee-supplied information for each finalist, to help you make an informed decision for each honour.
Voting is open only to PGA of BC members; your PGA of Canada membership number must be included on your ballot and will be verified prior to your votes being counted. Award recipients will not be determined directly by the membership vote, but results will assist the Final Selection Committee in identifying this year's provincial honourees.
Congratulations to all of this year's finalists. We look forward to honouring all Regional Recipients and presenting this year's provincial awards at the PGA of BC Awards Celebration presented by

BC TEAM WINS INTER-ZONE COMPETITION AT ASSISTANTS' CHAMPIONSHIP
|
The PGA of BC team won the Inter-Zone competition of the PGA Assistants' Championship of Canada presented by Callaway Golf earlier today, and many of our representatives at the event will be in the hunt for the individual title when the tournament wraps up Thursday at TPC Toronto.
The BC team of
Bryn Parry
(Seymour Creek Golf Centre),
Luke Bogdan
(Ledgeview Golf Club),
Nate Ollis
(Cordova Bay Golf Course) and
Kevin Stinson
(Cheam Mountain Golf Course) sat second after the opening round, but made up a six-stroke deficit Wednesday to finish tied for first with Quebec at 30-under-par. BC claimed the victory on the tiebreaker, which was decided using the fourth-place score for each team in Round 2. Bogdan's even-par 72 was three shots better than Quebec's tie-breaking total. Each team member will receive a $350 bonus for the result.
All four Inter-Zone team members are among six PGA of BC Professionals inside the top 10 heading into Thursday's final round.
Oliver Tubb
(University Golf Club) leads the way after back-to-back 66s, which have put him alone in second place at 12-under, one stroke back of leader Yohann Benson of Quebec.
Meanwhile, Parry, Stinson and
Ethan Danish
(Two Eagles Golf Course & Academy) all hold a share of fourth place at 9-under. Bogdan and Ollis are sitting T10 at 6-under.
Nine PGA of BC members made the 36-hole cut overall.
Isaac Weintraub
(Salt Spring Island Golf & Country Club) sits T20 at 2-under,
Finlay Young
(The Harvest Golf Club) is T35 at 1-over, and
John Shin
(The Tour LAB @ Northview) ranks T47 at 5-over.
