CLAPP CLAIMS CLUB PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN PLAYOFF
|
After both players were tied at 5-under-par through two rounds of play, Clapp (Cultus Lake Golf Club) made par on the third extra hole – the 18th at Nicklaus North – to claim the title and winner's share of $2,700 over Zibrik (Point Grey Golf & Country Club), who collected $2,000 for second place.
Clapp followed his first-round 66 with an even-par 71 on Tuesday to finish at 5-under, while Zibrik made a clutch birdie putt on the final green to back up Monday’s 68 with a final-round 69 and force the playoff. Starting on Nicklaus North’s 16th hole, both players parred the first two extra holes, but Zibrik’s tee shot on the third found the penalty area down the left side to give Clapp the advantage.
Defending champion Mark Kitts (Shadow Ridge Golf Club) and Brian McDonald (Fairview Mountain Golf Club) each shot back-to-back rounds of 69 to finish at 4-under-par, sharing third place and taking home $1,275 apiece. Kyle German (Bald Eagle Golf Club) shot a final-round 68 to finish fifth at 3-under, earning $900.

The PGA of BC would like to thank host Head Professional Andrew Smart and the entire Nicklaus North team for their hospitality at the event. The Association also extends its appreciation to our sponsors at Srixon/Cleveland Golf/XXIO and Oakcreek Golf & Turf LP for their support and on-site presence at this week's tournament.

BUYING SHOW EXHIBITOR LIST GROWING, REGISTRATION STILL AVAILABLE
|
Close to 40 exhibitors are already registered for next month's PGA of BC Buying Show, taking place in a virtual format on Oct. 14-15, and there's still time to register for a booth at the event.
Early registrants are now being provided with access to the administration of their virtual exhibitor booths, so early registration is encouraged to ensure ample time to set up your space at the show for attendees.
Registration will be available until Sept. 30. The registration fee to establish a virtual booth is $250 (plus GST), which represents a savings of more than 80 per cent off the cost of a 10'x10' booth at a traditional, in-person Buying Show.
Click below for registration details and more Buying Show information, including a list of amenities and features for exhibitors at the virtual show, and a video tour of the platform that will be used during the event.
More information on attendee registration will be released in the near future.

Jeff Wiggins (The Springs at Radium) came out on top at the two-day Kootenay Pro Tour Championship this week, which also helped him to a first-place finish on the tour's season-long Order of Merit.
Wiggins (pictured) opened with a 69 in Monday's first round at The Springs at Radium and followed it with a 71 Tuesday at Copper Point Golf Club to finish at 3-under and claim a one-stroke victory over Trevor Simkins (Bootleg Gap Golf Course). Wiggins earned $1,200 for the win while Simkins pocketed $950. Jeremy Johnson (Fairmont Hot Springs Resort) finished seven strokes off the pace to place third and take home $750.
The top three in the Tour Championship mirrored the standings in the tour's Order of Merit for the year, with Wiggins, Simkins and Johnson occupying each of the top three positions. Copper Point Golf Club Professionals Dennis Bradley and Scott McClain -- who aced the 15th hole in Tuesday's final round -- finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the season standings.
