PGA of BC PARTNER SPOTLIGHT
G&G GOLF COMPANY
Proudly celebrating 30 years of business, G&G Golf prides itself on being a people-first company that is passionate about the game of golf and all that goes into it. He added on items such as divot tools, towels, umbrellas, and golf bags to expand G&G Golf’s portfolio which continues to offer the same diversity today.

In 2016, Brad and Jessica took over day-to-day operations, continuing the German family business and renewing its focus on expanding G&G’s presence in Canada. Through all of this, the German family's commitment to service has not wavered, leading with quality brands, dependable sales teams, and the most dedicated and hard-working head office team in the business. Whether you are looking for fresh new ideas for your next golf event or access to some of the top brands in North America, G&G is there for all your golf business needs.

WONG WINS PGA of BC WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP IN RUNAWAY
Two rounds of near-flawless golf propelled Christine Wong to a convincing victory in the 2020 PGA of BC Women’s Championship presented by Dexim Golfwear, as the University Golf Club Apprentice Professional ran away with the title Wednesday at Richmond Country Club.

Entering the final round of the 36-hole, stableford-scoring tournament with a five par-point lead, Wong’s Wednesday tally of 42 points left her with a total of 80 for the event, 10 more than runner-up Kyla Inaba (Predator Ridge Golf Resort). Wong’s six-birdie, bogey-free performance over the final 18 holes was the best round of the championship.

In capturing her first PGA of BC title, Wong took home the winner’s share of $1,000 from the $3,000 purse. Inaba collected $700 for the second-place finish, while defending champion Salimah Mussani (Riverway Golf Course) earned $550 for third place with a total of 69 points. Jennifer Greggain (Chilliwack Golf Club) and Kat Kennedy (Point Grey Golf & Country Club) shared fourth place and made $375 apiece after finishing with 68 points each.

MEMBERSHIP VOTING OPEN FOR PGA of BC AWARDS PROGRAM
The PGA of British Columbia is pleased to announce that members are now invited to vote for their preferred selections in 11 categories of the Association's 2020 Awards Program.

Earlier this month, the PGA of BC announced the Regional Award Recipients in all member-determined categories following an open nomination period and extensive deliberations by regional nomination committees. Each of the Regional Award Recipients are now provincial finalists for this year's PGA of BC Awards, with the Provincial Award Recipients to be announced next month. Eligible provincial award recipients will also be put forward as the PGA of BC's nominee for corresponding PGA of Canada national awards where applicable.

PGA of BC members are now asked to vote for their preferred candidate in each category. The voting results will then be considered alongside judgements made by the Final Selection Committee, which consists of past PGA of BC Award recipients. Please note the membership vote will NOT directly determine the recipient of each award, but will be considered in arriving at final selections.

CONGRATULATIONS
The PGA of BC is pleased to share that Apprentice Professional Josh Horsthuis (The Okanagan Golf Club) became engaged to longtime partner Kayleigh Trowman during a trip to Tobiano Golf Course earlier this month.

After a close match between the two at the Kamloops facility, Horsthuis took a knee on the 18th green to propose to Trowman, a member of the UBCO Heat Women's Golf Team and his girlfriend of four years.

"We met through golf and now have the privilege of working and teaching golf together," said Horsthuis. "We are excited to continue our life together and expect to play many more tight matches in the future!"

The Association extends its congratulations to the happy couple!
