Golfing Season is in 'Full Swing!'

Happy April everyone! David Maas, Bill Farrell, Bill Troyer and Earl Smith were the first couple of groups off the first tee to start the 2019 golfing season. Things are still a little soggy along the river; I'm hoping we don't get the typical "April showers that bring May flowers!"

Earl Smith, Bill Farrell, David Maas, & Bill Troyer (L-R)

We especially need t hings to dry up in the area in front of the #5 tee so we can start the prep work of converting that area from mowed turf into a native plants. In the last 5 years, that area has been under water, or extremely wet more than it has been dry, so why keep fighting Mother Nature. It wants to be wet, so let's plant things that like it wet! This conversion will take place over the next three years. We are hoping to plant phase one in June.
The scaffolding is up around the "Old Oak" and it's ready for carving. If scheduling and weather come together, carving will start next week. Check Facebook for updates.

As for the grounds crew, we are still working on course clean-up and over-seeding fairways, tees and rough before we get into our usual mowing routine. Restrooms will be open by April 1.

We wish everyone a wonderful golfing season. Hope to see you soon!
