Family and friends gather to celebrate Tom Sweet!

Denise's Corner -
Remembering a Friend & Helping to Make a Difference

On September 15, friends and family gathered at the #4 tee to celebrate Tom Sweet, part-time employee and avid golfer at Pottawatomie for 59 years. Tom's wife Nancy and family generously shared some of the donations given at Tom's passing to be used to beautify the area next to #4 tee. The day started out raining but by the time we gathered the skies turned blue. Thanks Tom!

October 8 is aerification day and the greens will be closed most of the day. We typically like to have this already done by this time, but September was just too nice to disrupt play. The long range forecast is calling for a nice October so I'm confident the greens will recover before the first frost.

We are participating in the "Make a Difference Day" for the 8th graders at Wredling Middle School on Friday, October 11. About 50 students will be helping staff clean up the annual flower beds. We are looking for a couple of volunteers that can help in directing the students. They will be here from approximately 9-11:30am on .Please give me a call or let the Pro Shop know if you're available to help.

The course is such a beautiful place in the fall. Come out and enjoy its splendor!
