2020 - A Productive Yet Challenging Season
Our season went like this:
Removed two declining willow trees and installed a security fence at #8 tee
Winter clean-up, more than normal due to several high wind storms throughout the winter
COVID-19, say no more!
Implemented safety procedures to keep staff safe and healthy, which included lots of disinfectant and hand sanitizer.
Closed #3 green for construction of timber wall
A spring flood, however with the presence of COVID-19, the flood seemed to be the least of our worries!
Annual flower planting started off pretty slow due to cold and wet weather, but ended up looking pretty good
Installed a concrete pad and memorial bench at #6 tee
Boulder installation at #1 tee
Removed invasive trees behind and left side of #3 green
More disinfectant and hand sanitizer
Planted shrub bed and installed cart path at #8 tee
Water, water, and more water due to no rain practically all summer
Planted 9,100 native plants at #5 tee area
And even more disinfectant and hand sanitizer!
Managed to continue to maintain the greens, tees, fairways and rough
All of this was possible due to having one of the best crews in years. They took the virus serious enough to make sure everyone stayed safe, worked together as a team from the start of the season and had fun while doing it. I couldn't be prouder of the 2020 golf grounds staff. With the heat and drought behind us, this fall is looking like great weather for golf. See you on the course!
