Partnership Grand Strand Bulletin

OCTOBER, 2024

Series 2, Issue 10

Congratulations on surviving another hot South Carolina Summer! Now the reward begins. Happy October!

Our 1st Town Hall Social

Thank you to all the community leaders that attended our Town Hall Social on September 25 at The Train Depot.

Special thanks to our panel participants, Jason Greene (MBDA), Brian Tucker and Howard Waldie IV (City of Myrtle Beach), Sandy Davis (MBREDC), Jimmy Gray (MBACC) and Brian Piascik (Coast RTA). PGS appreciates your support and partnership.

Our goal was to deliver brief updates from all the entities that are driving growth in our community as well as identify some upcoming opportunities that our team is delivering to support local businesses, entrepreneurs and employers.

PGS's Workforce initiatives, the RISE Internship program, and the Arts and Innovation District were the updates that the audience was most interested in hearing about. We appreciate all of your positive feedback!

We’re Planning to Celebrate ALL Small Businesses throughout November!

When we look at the data, small businesses represent over 80% of the total businesses in Horry County. This translates to nearly 65% of our local economy.

We think this is a BIG DEAL.

As we prepare for Small Business Saturday on November 30, we are launching a contest that will recognize small businesses as a BIG DEAL, and drive shoppers to their establishments.

Announcing our Small Business is a BIG DEAL contest!

All the details can be found on our website, but this is essentially a photo contest to compete for social media posts and win prizes (no purchase required).

We will be registering participating small businesses throughout October. If you own a small business and want to participate, click here to register.

The contest will go live on November 1 and run through Small Business Saturday on November 30, 2024.

There will be multiple ways to win and multiple prizes.

The real mission, however, is to celebrate the small businesses that are the lifeblood or our local economy.

If you’re a small business… get registered.

If you’re a small business shopper… get ready to play!
