Partnership Grand Strand Bulletin

NOVEMBER, 2024

Series 2, Issue 11

As we kick off November, it’s time to reflect and be grateful for all of our investors and strategic partners.

Without your partnership, PGS would be unable to serve our community in the areas of workforce, small business, policy and place development.

Here’s also wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving where you can take a moment and count every blessing.

Contest: Small Business is a BIG Deal!

Get ready to celebrate Small Business Saturday on November 30 by showing some love for the amazing small businesses in our community! This month, local consumers can join the fun early by giving a shout-out to their favorite small businesses by sharing a photo on social media using the hashtag #BigDealContest. They will be entered for a chance to win a $100 Visa gift card in a weekly random drawing.

If you are or know of a small business that would be interested in displaying an "I’m A BIG Deal" decal at their storefront or on their vehicle, contact Sarah Dahlstrom at sarah.dahlstrom@PartnershipGrandStrand.com.

Let's show our support for the small businesses that make a big impact!

All the details can be found on our website.

It’s REAL… it’s published!

Get a "behind the scenes” peek at all the great things brewing in our community! A new podcast airs every other Saturday at 12:00 noon.

You can listen to our podcasts on the PGS YouTube page or wherever you get your podcasts.

Bank of America Launches 20th Year

of Student Leaders Program

Opportunity to serve, inspire, change

Since 2004, Student Leaders® has been part of Bank of America's ongoing commitment to youth employment and economic mobility, helping to prepare a diverse pipeline of community-minded young students to be successful in the workforce through leadership training and work experience.

Through the Student Leaders® program, Bank of America annually connects more than 300 community-minded high school juniors and seniors from over 100 communities to employment, skills development and service. They get first-hand experience in serving their communities through a paid eight-week summer internship with nonprofits in their local community like the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, local food banks, Habitat for Humanity and more. They also get to see how nonprofits, governments and businesses collaborate to meet local needs by participating in the national Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. Through these internships and participation in the Summit, they gain practical work and life experience. Through connecting with each other they learn about the experiences of others, diversity of thought and how we can all work together to create a more just world.

The application period is open until January 15, 2025. High school juniors and seniors in Horry County can learn more and apply by logging on to www.bankofamerica.com/studentleaders.
