The Build Something Amazing event was a resounding success, hosting over 300 high school seniors from Horry County Schools and featuring 30 local employers offering a wide array of career opportunities in the skilled trades.

Students were provided valuable data on wages and educational pathways, equipping them with the tools to pursue meaningful careers right out of high school.

One particularly inspiring testimonial came from a teacher at Conway High School:

*"A BIG thanks for being part of this group that created this wonderful event today. Our students at Conway High had a great time, and I want you to know that one of our students received FOUR OFFERS. I was so proud of him. He was in the soft skills training we did on Monday, and I knew he would walk away with a job offer after he finished high school. He was determined, and he succeeded.

Many of our students felt good and gave out their resumes on the spot. This was a good outing for them because they actually saw the potential of having a job and making a good salary if they decided to put college on hold. Some don't want to go to college but want a career that will pay them a good wage and allow them to work their way up with a high school diploma.

You and your team gave these students hope. Build Something Amazing was truly amazing for our students at Conway High School."*

Events like these highlight the value of connecting students with local businesses and showcasing the opportunities available to them in their community. It was incredible to see so many young people take steps toward building bright futures. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible!

Save the Date!

Get ready for the next BIG Mixer happening on February 5 at the Robert H. Reed Recreation Center in Market Common!

It’s your chance to connect, network, and have some fun—all in one place. More exciting details are coming your way soon, so stay tuned and mark your calendars now.

You won’t want to miss this! See you there!
