NEW Sanofi 'FLU' Topbar App - out April
The FLU app is designed to help practices identify patients (while in consultation) who are recommended for influenza vaccination but are yet to be vaccinated, including those for whom it is funded via the NIP.

A notification appears on the FLU app on Topbar when a patient is yet to be vaccinated this season. The notification system is based on the Australian Department of Health recommendations and NIP eligibility criteria.

The FLU app helps to:
  • Identify missed vaccinations
  • Reduce the risk of vaccination double-dosing
  • Increase visibility of vaccination and NIP eligibility status
  • Support doctor - patient conversations about the need for vaccination
  • Easily view patient alignment to PIP QI measures

Preventive Healthcare in One Ecosystem – Pen CS and Western Sydney Partnership lead the way
Pen CS, WentWest, and Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD) are collaborating to build one health system.

“In Western Sydney, we apply a ‘one health system’ approach where WentWest supports primary care, the Western Sydney LHD delivers acute services and both of us are covering various aspects of community health. This approach, underpinned by technology developed with Pen CS, is critical to changing the way services operate and deliver outcomes for the population,” said Ray Messom, Chief Executive, WentWest.

This health system, supported by the use of data, delivers transparency and accountability to deliver truly value-based care.

World Immunisation Week with Pen CS
World Immunisation Week is on 24th to 30th April 2021.
World Immunisation Week 2021 aims to promote the use of vaccines to protect people of all ages against disease. Pen CS has developed guides to help PHNs and ACCHOs and support general practices in providing immunisations for disease prevention.

Pen CS follows the Australian Immunisation Handbook, Immunise Australia and National Centre for Immunisation Research and Surveillance guidelines to ensure quality and completeness of patient information data.

Pen CS Announcements
New DEXA CAT Report now available
The new DEXA CAT report provides information on Bone Mineral Density screening and is now available in all general practices. The report shows all patients and their DEXA screening status and helps support practice management of osteoporosis.
AIHW Suppression Rules
Pen CS is in the process of implementing the AIHW suppression rules for the AIHW report in PAT CAT.

Initially, some PHNs will be testing this new functionality but we expect this new option to be available for all our partners.

PHNs will still be able to see the full report as well as the one with suppressed small cell numbers.
Updated Pen CS CAT Recipes
