Pen CS is a winner of the NSW R&D Innovation Districts Challenge Award
Pen CS is a proud winner of the NSW Government’s first R&D Innovation Districts Challenge, designed to find research and development solutions that reduce the impact of COVID-19 on the health and wellbeing of the people of NSW.

“Pen CS is delighted to be a winner of this Innovation Challenge which demonstrates our commitment, to continue to push boundaries, to find better ways to improve healthcare for all Australians,” said Edweana Wenkart, Managing Director, Pen CS.

More than 110 businesses applied to be part of the NSW Government’s R&D Innovation Districts Challenges.

Pen CS thanks Western Sydney University, our innovation district partner for the collaboration and NSW Treasury, NSW Health, Office of the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer and Massachusetts Institute of Technology who evaluated the applications.

Training and Professional Development
Pen CS is committed to train and help general practices and PHNs strive towards data-driven improvement.

In 2020, we ran 59 free online training webinars for PHNs and general practices.

Valuable topics ranged from PIP QI, Virtual Chronic Disease Management, Mental Health, Asthma, and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disorder, Cancer Screening, Data Quality Improvement as well as practice essentials such as Introduction to CAT4 and Topbar.

We encourage PHNs to redeem your available training sessions. These sessions can be tailored to suit your organisational needs.

New Year, New Look CAT4
CAT4.3 is out now - refreshed and simplified.

Practices will now be able to view the updated user interface (UI) in CAT4 including:
  • New Graph types
  • Consistent colour scheme throughout all graphs
  • Traffic light scheme applied where relevant
  • Simplified logon and improved user interface

User Group Summit 2021 - Save the Date
The annual CAT Plus User Group Summit 2021 is an event featuring informative presentations, break-out sessions, strategic exchange and exciting new updates from Pen CS.

PAT BI Working Group Meeting
The PAT BI Working Group meeting is a forum for technical discussion and a networking opportunity for PHNs working with the PAT BI Database.

Prescription Update
The Pen CS suite of tools is compatible with the changes to PBS prescribing rules.
Updated Pneumococcal Vaccination Reports
We have reviewed our reports on the existing pneumococcal vaccinations and are in the process of implementing changes. The updated reports in CAT4 will be available in mid-February.
PIP QI JSON Integration Update
Pen CS is currently integrating the PIP Eligible JSON File dataset with the PIP QI 'Summary' Report in PAT CAT. PHNs with the PIP QI Professional will be able to soon access JSON file dataset in the PIP QI 'Summary' Report.
 
Please note, individual PIP QI measures reports in PAT CAT will not reflect the JSON file information.
MRFF 2020 Primary Health Care Research Data Infrastructure - 23rd February 2021
The MRFF 2020 Primary Health Care Research Data Infrastructure grant opportunity looks to fund the creation or extension of national research data infrastructure. It will support world-class health and medical research in Australia.

The grant opportunity closes Tuesday 23rd February 2021.

Topbar Influenza Immunisation App Pilot Study - Invitation to Participate
A client has engaged Pen CS to create a Topbar Influenza Immunisation App. The aim is to increase coverage and uptake of the influenza vaccine, by improving workflow and motivating healthcare providers to increase vaccinations in their patient population.

Chronic disease management - Improving health outcomes for patients with diabetes using CAT Plus
Perform quality improvement activities in your practice using CAT4 and Topbar for the prevention and management of diabetes.
