Notification of Security Enhancements for Pen CS Support Help Desk
Pen CS wishes to notify you of a recent case where an unknown caller falsely represented themselves as an employee of Pen CS and asked a Practice for access to their server. This case was reported to Pen CS by a PHN.

Resultantly, Pen CS advised all attendees in the User Group on 12th September of this instance and is now notifying you to bring your attention to this case so that you may disseminate appropriate communication to your Practices.

Pen CS will be implementing the following approach to minimise any opportunity for further misrepresentation:
  • Pen CS notice to PHNs
  • Pen CS Statement issued – for PHNs to share with Practices
  • Pen CS to include this statement in the GP Newsletter distributed on 1st October
  • Pen CS Support to provide an Appointment Code/Ticket Number for each Support request, so that the Practice can verify that it is legitimately Pen CS calling.

We support your approach to notify practices to reduce any potential fraudulent support calls.

Please share this support update from Pen CS with your Practices, as appropriate.
