Welcome to the inaugural e-newsletter from the Public Health National Center for Innovations (PHNCI). Each month, we will send a brief e-newsletter with updates, links to relevant tools and resources, and ways to engage with us. The e-newsletter will be the best way to stay up-to-date on our work and of public health innovations taking place across the nation. In this month’s edition: learn about our Fall into Learning Webinar Series; preview APHA Annual Meeting sessions related to innovation in public health; and discover new resources designed to help health departments align their work with several national initiatives.

Fall into Learning Webinar Series

This fall, PHNCI is offering monthly webinars to provide the public health field with information on emerging trends and strategies to advance innovations in practice. Topics include:

Connect with PHNCI and Explore Innovation in Public Health at APHA

During the American Public Health Association’s (APHA) 144th Annual Meeting & Exposition, innovation in public health practice will be spotlighted on Wednesday, November 2nd, from 10:30AM-12:00PM. As part of the session, PHNCI staff will present “ Transforming the Delivery of Public Health: How the Public Health National Center for Innovations is Leading the Charge.” The session will explore PHNCI’s purpose and goals, including the push to transform public health through the implementation of foundational public health services, the engagement of cross-jurisdictional sharing, and the exploration of a uniform chart of accounts.

Be sure to stop by Booth #522 at the Public Health Expo to meet with PHNCI staff as they share information and answer questions about their important work in innovation!

New Resources Available

PHNCI has published two new resources for the field’s use:

Aligning National Initiatives to Foster Improvement provides an overview of several national initiatives and their connections to innovation and accreditation.
Aligning Accreditation and the Foundational Public Health Capabilities explains the alignment between version 1.5 of the accreditation standards and measures and version 1.0 of the foundational capabilities as part of the foundational public health services framework.
