More Than 170 Volunteers From Arlington Businesses and Nonprofits Connect for Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day
County Board Vice Chair Christian Dorsey presided over virtual kickoff, thanked volunteers and nonprofit leaders for their service
ARLINGTON, Va. - Local volunteers from local businesses and organizations partnered for a day of service on Friday, April 29 as part of the 23rd Annual Arlington Chamber Volunteer Day, sponsored by Amazon. Produced each year by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce's Community Action Committee, this event provides an opportunity for nonprofits to develop relationships with Arlington businesses, and for businesses to give back to the community.

The event started with a virtual kickoff featuring County Board Vice Chair Christian Dorsey who said "Hopefully today lights the spark of volunteerism and you can pursue it long after this day is over." He also thanked the participating nonprofits and their staff, especially Community Action Committee Chair Christina Armstrong of Bridges to Independence for her leadership on the committee.

Following the kickoff, participants volunteered at 13 Chamber member nonprofits on a variety of projects ranging from a cleanup along Four Mile Run Trail to several decluttering and cleaning projects. The project sites were located all throughout Arlington.
