PHYOUTH: Upcoming Soup Sunday and Kickstart Retreat Registration

Phyouth Families,

In this newsletter you'll find an upcoming event signup as well as a special summer announcement about our brand new Sr. High Kickstart Retreat! You can also view a draft of the summer calendar.

7th grade families, you are receiving this newsletter as well to make sure you have all the information for sr. high summer events since you will be graduating from midyouth this spring!

Here are the special UPCOMING EVENTS you won't want to miss:

March

Soup Sunday (2/2)

(Current 8th-12th) Instead of normal youth, we will be volunteering at Soup Sunday, benefitting Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families. Sign up to join us! We'll be running the children's area, face painting, and handing out hot dogs.

Pick up and drop off will be at the Soup Sunday Event. We'll meet at 2:45 for the first shift. We encourage carpooling!

Here are the UPCOMING SUMMER DATES you won't want to miss:

Guatemala Medical Mission Trip (July 19th-27th)

We will be selecting between 3-5 youth to attend the mission trip in Guatemala medical team. Dr. Laura Sanders will be the adult responsible for youth on the trip. The role of youth on the trip is to learn from the medical team, and support their work in the form of physical set up, and working with children and families receiving care.

Students wanting to attend the trip must be:

--A rising junior, rising senior, or senior graduate

--An active participant in youth ministry at PHUMC

Assembly (7/14 - 7/18)

Youth (incoming 7th-12th) are invited to Hendrix College for a week of growth, worship, connection and fun with other United Methodist Youth from across the state. Registration link below, opens Oct. 15.

Kickstart Youth Retreat (8/1 - 8/3)

All incoming 8th-12th graders are invited to attend. This is our way of welcoming everyone to youth group for the year! Come get to know some new friends, and reconnect with old friends in a new way. We'll play, swim, learn, worship, and spend time together outside. We hope this weekend will kickstart our faith and our community as we prepare for the upcoming school year.

Drop off at Ferncliff, 2:00pm on Friday 8/1

Pickup at Ferncliff, 11:00am on Sunday 8/3

Phyouth 8th-12th are invited to Kickstart, our brand new Sr. High retreat!

Assembly (July 14-18) is the our longest standing, and most beloved Arkansas Conference Youth Ministry event. Jr High (completed 6th-8th) and Senior High (9th-graduates) are separate groups who stay the same week at Hendrix College. Assembly allows students to be in small groups with United Methodist Youth from across the state, worship together, and participate in fun activities—making memories for a lifetime!

Come enjoy the beautiful campus of Hendrix college, and get the full experience of living in their historic dorms, eating in the award winning cafeteria, and worshipping together in the auditorium with nationally renowned speakers and band. This is an experience you won't want to miss!
