cultivating a lifelong commitment

May 2017 PILI Spotlights

Summer is just around the corner, and as PILI prepares to welcome over 100 new Interns and Fellows, we spotlight two former PILIs who have maintained a strong commitment to service throughout their careers. We also look at some great pro bono projects being done by a national law firm headquartered in Alton, Illinois. Lastly, we get to know one of our board members who will be working with some of our PILIs at his agency this summer.

We hope you join us at one of our summer events, like the Annual Pro Bono Reception on June 21st. As always, we appreciate the support we receive throughout the year, especially during this special 40th Anniversary year.
We also invite you to keep up with the latest PILI news on our website or check us out on social media on  Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter!

"It was an eye opener to see how much power you can have with your license and how much help you can give to those less fortunate, sometimes without even leaving your office."

"Being a PILI Fellow while studying for the bar is one of the many reminders that no matter how busy you are, there is always time to serve the public interest."

"Simmons' efforts are important in ensuring that Madison County residents' legal needs are  met and everyone has a chance to achieve justice."

"I think PILI is a great organization that provides substantial benefit to the Illinois legal community."
