We recognize the challenging times all are facing and we are committed to providing you all with kind inspiration and motivation.
In that spirit we continue with these PINKK on POINTS in the hope they can provide a positive vibe to your Friday's.
In this PINKK on POINT series, which started in March Women's History Month, we are honoring women songwriters and performing artists that have inspired us over the years and some even more recently. This is series #5 - and this is #2 of 12 in this series! We will feature legends and those that are "new legends" in the works that inspire with their talent and kind hearts.
Never doubt that a small group of citizens can change the world, indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.” Margaret Mead
This is #2 in the series:
At only 18 years old, Billie has taken the music world by storm! Her first studio album, "When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?" earned her 6 Grammy nominations for:
Best New Artist, Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Solo Performance. (She won 5, except Best Pop Solo Performance.) She's a little unconventional, recording her albums in her family home with the help of her Grammy-winning brother Finneas, and she openly talks about her struggles with depression and having Tourette's syndrome. Billie has been a songwriter her whole life, and is a unique, creative soul.
Time is kind of an amazing thing because you can do so much with it. I think people underestimate time... I don't want to just sit on my phone for hours."
On depression (to her fans):
"I just grab [my fans] by the shoulders and I’m like, ‘Please take care of yourself and be good to yourself and be nice to yourself. Don’t take that extra step and hurt yourself further and then you can't take it back.'"
PINKK on POINT: "Have confidence in yourself, what you do, and your creative ability. You are an artist - you are creating your life! Be kind on your journey to all, as you just never know what someone is going through."
