Welcome to the Pride in Our Workplace July Newsletter. We hope that you had an incredible Pride month in June, and we're excited to be able to share our latest resources to help you and your team continue to celebrate LGBTQ+ professionals year-round!
Trans Workplace Inclusion Resources
Learning from Lived Experience: Culture Eats Strategy
In a new video highlight from our Implementing Policy and Best Practices Panel, Fenway Health CEO Ellen LaPointe offers her tips for fostering cultures of belonging at work. To create more equitable spaces for trans and non-binary professionals, company-wide adoption of trans-affirming practices is key. Learn more in Culture Eats Strategy with Ellen LaPointe.
Allyship Best Practices
The end of June marks the end of LGBTQ+ Pride month, but it shouldn’t mark the end of LGBTQ+ allyship. As this month comes to a close, PIOW encourages everyone to commit or recommit to supporting all members of the LGBTQ+ community year-round.
LGBTQ+ Allyship Checklist and Educational Resources
Track goals and hold yourself and your team accountable with our LGBTQ+ Allyship Checklist. Wherever you are in your allyship journey, this resource will help you continue your education and integrate acts of allyship into your workday.

The Do's and Don'ts of Trans Allyship
Looking for trans-specific allyship resources? Trevor Boylston, Ryan Rasdall, Cheryl Katon, and Irene Brank weigh in on the do's and don'ts of trans allyship in our recent post.

Supporting Boston's LGBTQ+ Community
Pride in Our Workplace connects organizations and LGBTQ+ professionals to create thriving workplace cultures. By centering LGBTQ+ perspectives within our most important conversations, we aim to provide avenues for LGBTQ+ professionals to amplify their voices and drive positive change.

In light of Boston Pride’s statement on their dissolution as an organization, the PIOW team would like to offer our support in amplifying the efforts of local nonprofits, BIPOC leaders, and LGBTQ+ employee resource groups taking on the important work of creating equitable and inclusive spaces in which all members of Boston’s LGBTQ+ community can thrive. Reach out to info@piow.org to share your organization’s work and to explore opportunities for collaboration moving forward.

6.18.21 | Celebration, Education, and Accountability on Juneteenth
Progress towards a more equitable future can begin when we center Black LGBTQ+ individuals, experiences, and histories in our collective advocacy. By deepening our understanding of the systemic oppression faced by Black and marginalized communities, we become better equipped to push for larger workplace and societal change.
