Join us for a long autumn weekend to Western Pennsylvania and Ohio. PITTSBURGH grew up in the industrial age and has blossomed into a modern, cultural and exciting metropolis. We will visit CLAYTON, the charming home of Henry Clay Frick, the provocative ANDY WARHOL MUSEUM, and THE CARNEGIE, known for its French Impressionist paintings and monumental architectural casts. We will travel to CLEVELAND for the day to enjoy the world-class CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART; and enjoy a tour of FALLINGWATER, one of the finest achievements of architect Frank Lloyd Wright.
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27 – Depart Philadelphia this morning by deluxe motor coach for HARRISBURG and a tour of the beautiful PENNSYLVANIA STATE CAPITOL. A box lunch is included en route to SHANKSVILLE, where we will pay our respects to 40 victims who sacrificed their lives on September 11, 2001, at the FLIGHT 93 NATIONAL MEMORIAL Later we will arrive in PITTSBURGH and check in at the OMNI WILLIAM PENN HOTEL. Optional plans will be made for dinner this evening at a nearby restaurant.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 28 – Our day begins with a tour of PITTSBURGH before visits to the CARNEGIE MUSEUM OF ART in PITTSBURGH’S CULTURAL DISTRICT; CLAYTON, the home of industrialist Henry Clay Frick; and the world-class PHIPPS CONSERVATORY. Optional evening visit to the ANDY WARHOL MUSEUM. Suggestions will be made for dinner on your own.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29 - Travel for the day to CLEVELAND where we will spend time at the CLEVELAND MUSEUM OF ART known for its comprehensive collections spanning 5000 years. In the afternoon we will enjoy a tour of the city’s historic and architectural landmarks including a visit to I.M. Pei’s remarkable ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME on the banks of Lake Erie. An early dinner is included before we return to PITTSBURGH.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 30 – Depart PITTSBURGH this morning for FALLINGWATER, a home designed by Frank Lloyd Wright for department store owner Edgar G. Kaufman. Architectural historian Vincent Scully said that FALLINGWATER “has always been rightly considered one of the complete masterpieces of twentieth-century art.” A tour at KENTUCK KNOB is also planned, a home designed by Wright in 1953 for the I. N. Hagan family of UNIONTOWN. A stop for dinner (on your own) will be made on our return trip to Philadelphia.
TOUR COST - $2075 per person double occupancy. The single supplement is $290. THIS PRICE INCLUDES three nights at the OMNI WILLIAM PENN HOTEL including tax; one lunch, two dinners; all sightseeing as indicated in the itinerary including entrance fees. The trip will be escorted by a representative from EXCURSIONS FROM THE SQUARE.
