This Month in Jewish History

On December 6, 1987, 250,000 American Jews and non-Jews gathered on the National Mall in Washington, D.C.in a rally to free Soviet Jewry. The event, called, Freedom Sunday, was the largest rally of American Jews to ever take place in the nation’s capital. Coretta Scott King compared it to the Civil Rights March on Washington in 1963.
