2025 Thanksgiving in a Box

This Thanksgiving promises to be especially hard on many Westchester families. Pelham Jewish Center is partnering with other local houses of worship to assemble and deliver boxes of food.

EACH box will be stocked with supplies for a family of six to eight people, and should be brought to Huguenot Memorial Church (901 Pelhamdale Avenue) between November 22-25. Hours: 9:00 am-5:00 pm.

GET BOXES AT THE PJC

There are empty boxes under the hallway table at the PJC, and anyone can just take one to fill with food for bringing to the church. Please contact Kathy at the PJC office to see what can be included.

Through a donation, you can allow Manor Market to fulfill your box orders. Just call 914-636-2208 and place an order. They will put a box together for you and get it to the church. Cost: $79. (Manor Market 4775-77 Boston Post Road).

Thanks for your generosity!

This Month in Jewish History

On November 20, 1977 Egyptian leader Anwar Sadat delivered an historic address to the Israeli Knesset. Admitting he didn’t blame anyone who was cynical or “gripped by violent surprise” over his appearance, he declared, "I come to you….to shape a new life, to establish peace.”

It was the first time an Arab leader came to Israel. He was assassinated four years later, in 1981.
