We hope you all had a wonderful week! Thank you again for your continued support of our school and entire community. Our specials specifically commented on increased engagement in their virtual instruction yesterday. I believe in general we have found a rhythm to Hybrid Learning. A special thank you to our teachers in their efforts to plan and execute instruction in three different modes.
This week the School Board decided to target returning to 5 days of in-person learning by October 19th. We as a school are diligently working to adjust and plan how to make this happen as safely as possible and within the guidelines laid out by CDE for a Safer at Home Posture: CDE COVID Guidance While we move in this direction, continue to remember that if the need for quarantine arises for any our classes, we will start the first day with a Friday schedule and teachers will use that day to help explain the logistics of learning throughout the quarantine.
I’d like to make you aware of a new virtual event and an important calendar change. On October 6th & 8th, we will be holding a Virtual Specials Expo. There will be two 45 minute sessions on both nights at 6 pm and 7 pm. The purpose of this night is to highlight for you each of our specials disciplines: Art, PE, Music, STEM, Tech, and World Langauge (Spanish). More information on how to access these sessions will come out later. Also, please note that we have moved Parent/Teacher Conferences to November 17th & 19th. Please mark your calendars for both of those events.
Lastly, we are still hiring for the 2020 school year. We have two Educational Assistant positions available. These position are half time. The responsibilities for these positions include the following: lunch and recesses supervision, supporting grade level teachers with clerical duties, and facilitating small group and individual student support. Please apply to this posting if you are interested: PLE - EA I. This may be a great job for any recent high school graduate or college student who is taking a gap year and are interested in pursuing a career in education.
Enjoy your weekend!
