PLEA statement regarding indictment in attack on Phoenix Police Officer

PHOENIX – Phoenix Law Enforcement Association President Darrell Kriplean released the following statement regarding a Grand Jury’s decision to indict suspect Rudy Gomez for an attack on a Phoenix Police Officer earlier this month:

“The Phoenix Law Enforcement Association is pleased that the Grand Jury found sufficient probable cause to indict the suspect in the brutal attack on our officer. Any other outcome would have been wrong. We thank the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office for its pursuit of justice.

“The Grand Jury’s decision affirms that the bond originally set by Judge Kenneth Skiff was insulting and ridiculous, completely out of line with the seriousness of the offenses committed.

“The attack on our officer was brutal and shocking. Despite our extreme displeasure with the judge in the original bond hearing, we are confident that the system will deliver justice for our officer.”
