HOT LUNCH PROGRAM | 2022-23

Dear VTT Parents,


We hope you have had a wonderful summer! 


We are pleased to share that we are moving to a new hot lunch ordering system for the 2022-23 school year. The new platform is called hotlunch.com and will replace MunchaLunch.


Before you attempt to navigate the new ordering system, we highly recommend watching the tutorial video below to make the process as smooth as possible.

PLEASE READ THIS EMAIL CAREFULLY TO ENSURE SUCCESS WITH SETTING UP YOUR ACCOUNT AND ORDERING YOUR HOT LUNCH.


This new system will provide you with complete control over your hot lunch orders. You will be able to make changes and cancellations directly through your account. Ordering will be open for two months at a time. In this system, you will have the ability to add and make modifications to your orders up until 7 FULL days prior to the scheduled hot lunch day. For example, if you need to cancel or modify your order for Monday, September 19th, you must do so prior to SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th @ 11:59 p.m, for Tuesday, it will be the Monday, a full 7 days beforehand @ 11:59 p.m. This is a firm deadline. Please note The Perfect Bite will NOT be able to make changes on your behalf after this deadline has passed.


Please note that with the implementation of this new system, The Perfect Bite will no longer be monitoring the [email protected] email. If you encounter any difficulties with your initial order, please email [email protected]. For any other issues going forward please select the software support tab once you are logged into your account.


Please note hotlunch.com requires that an annual user fee of $6 per student is paid with your first order. You will be prompted to pay this fee once you have selected your first month's order. For example, if you are intending to order hot lunch for September, once you have selected your meals for that month, you must pay for your first order including the $6 fee before you can proceed to order for October. Please note this must be done for each of your children. 


PLEASE READ CAREFULLY! Important Information & Instructions:


  • Registration is NOW OPEN!


  • Click here to set up an account and begin ordering, 


  • Once you set up your account, click on CHILDREN in the panel on the left. Select Add Child and complete your child's information. Repeat this step for each of your children. Please ensure you select the proper grade and class for each child as that information is used to distribute the hot lunches.


  • You will be prompted to enter the campus code when you add a child to your account.

The Campus Code is VTT.


  • Once you have added your child/children to your account, you will be able to proceed with ordering.


  • PLEASE NOTE: You must pay for your first month's order AND the initial $6 fee BEFORE you may proceed with additional orders.


  • Hot lunch service will begin on Monday, September 12th. 


  • Orders must be placed by Sunday, September 4th at 11:59 p.m for Monday, September 12th. If you miss this deadline, you will have until the following day at 11:59 p.m. to place orders beginning Tuesday, September 13th, and so forth. Please refer to the chart below for examples of ordering deadlines.


  • Orders must be paid in full and submitted 7 FULL days prior to the scheduled hot lunch day. Any orders that have not been paid in full will not be fulfilled.
  • All payments are subject to a 3% credit card processing fee.


  • Cutlery will NOT be provided. Please send reusable utensils to school for your children. (The office charges for cutlery to encourage responsible stewardship of our resources. Please remember to send cutlery with your child.)


For returning families who had credit remaining in MunchaLunch, once you set up an account, the credit will be placed into your hotlunch.com account

within 5 business days. 


The Tuck Shop will be open before and after school, offering baked goods, snacks, drinks, and much more. If you would like to purchase a pre-paid gift card to remain on file for your child/children, you can do so here!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I selected hot lunch for September but the system won't let me proceed to October

For the initial order of each child, you must pay the $6 annual fee before the system will allow you to continue with additional orders.


How do I pay for the first invoice so I can order the rest of my hot lunches?

After you have selected your hot lunch, press the blue continue button at the bottom of the page. This will take you to your cart where you can press the green invoice button to make a payment. 


Instead of paying my invoice, I selected the Add Another Order purple button and now it is saying I cannot proceed with ordering until I pay the setup fee. How do I pay this? 

In the menu on the left-hand side of the screen, click on the + symbol next to orders. Select Shopping Cart and then click on the order ID number in blue. Then select the green Update and Pay button on the top right-hand side. Then select the Pay Invoice option.


I still can't get it to work!

When is the deadline to order lunches?

The deadline to order hot lunch is 7 full days prior to the day you are ordering for. Please refer to the graphic below.

When does ordering open?

This new system will be open as of Friday, September 2nd, 2022, and will remain open for the term.


Is cutlery supplied?

No cutlery is supplied, please either purchase a cutlery set or send cutlery from home. 


My child is gluten-free. Can you cater to this?

Our kitchen is NOT gluten-free. There are items that are GF by ingredient but while we are very careful, we cannot guarantee against cross-contamination.


My child has an allergy. How can they safely enjoy hot lunch?

Our kitchen adheres to high standards in sanitation practices. We use high-allergen foods like fish, gluten, nuts, seeds, etc. If your child has severe allergies, it would be best to pack a lunch.


My child has a large appetite. How do I know they will have enough food for lunch?

Feel free to order just for one day and try it out. You can always add more food to the following order. 


My child is a picky eater. What if they don’t like the meal I order for them?

You are able to make changes or cancel meals through the system. Please refer to the above chart for deadlines for modifications or cancelations.


My child would like to try an item for a week, how do I arrange that? 

You may order for a single week or day throughout the session. Please refer to the above chart for deadlines for orders, modifications, or cancelations.


My child will be absent from school. What can I do about their hot lunch?

Please refer to the above chart for deadlines for orders, modifications, or cancelations. If you have missed this deadline, the hot lunch will be donated. 


My child is going on a field trip, how do I cancel their lunch?

Login to your account and cancel any days that you require. Please refer to the above chart for deadlines for orders, modifications, or cancelations. If you have missed this deadline, the hot lunch will be donated. 


My child no longer likes the menu item I’ve been ordering them. How do I switch it to something else? 

Login to your account and change any days that you require. Please refer to the above chart for deadlines for orders, modifications, or cancelations. If you have missed this deadline, the hot lunch will be donated. 


My child is absent. Can you please give their lunch to their friend/sibling in another class?

You may instruct your other child or friend to go to the dining hall to claim the hot lunch during your absent child’s scheduled lunch block


Do you offer refunds for lunches cancelled within the deadline?

A credit will be placed on your account for all hot lunches cancelled within the deadline. We do not offer refunds. Please refer to the above chart for deadlines for orders, modifications, or cancelations. If you have missed this deadline, the hot lunch will be donated.
