it is highly recommended that you and your child attend the Kid's Course Talk. They also may attend the Triathlon 101 - How to do a Triathlon on Saturday.

Parents will NOT be allowed in the Race Transition Area or to assist their child during the race per USA Triathlon rules. Each child is responsible for knowing their racecourse, transition area, and USA Triathlon rules. We will have volunteers in transition to help the children if needed. We love all of you supporting your children in growing up to be healthy happy, self-confident humans. Please be a good example of Sportsmanship & DO NOT Ask our Volunteers to break the rules by letting parents into transition. You may keep a close eye on your child by walking them to the gate to check into transition, and once they are in you may walk around the outside parameter of the fence to your child's bike rack area where you can see them and talk to them over the fence.

If your child is a challenged athlete please speak to one of the race director staff at Packet Pick-up or contact us ahead of time by email so we can all work together to help your child be successful.

Please remind your child to:

  • Always wear their helmet whenever their bike is not on the bike rack.
  • Make sure they know what it means to always ride their bike in a straight line on the right-hand side of the bike lane, and pass people if they need to on the left side. Some kids are visual learners and will need to see what this looks like. Practice make perfect and this is important for their safety and the safety of others!
