Whitney Oaks Golf Club (Rocklin, CA)

9:00 AM Shotgun Start
Registration Opens at 7:30 AM
Rain or Shine!

Over the past few days, the Sacramento Post has been carefully monitoring the weather regarding the anticipated upcoming significant rain event on Sunday and Monday. We have held discussions with the Whitney Oaks Golf Club representatives, who have stated that the course would still remain open for the tournament regardless of the rain. However, in consideration of the impacts to our golfers, sponsors and volunteers having to deal with consequences of the inclement weather, they have allowed us the opportunity to reschedule our tournament without any cost impacts.

As a result of these unusual circumstances, the Sacramento Post has decided to reschedule the tournament to Monday, November 1, with the shotgun start time of 9:00 AM. We realize that rescheduling the tournament to a new date may impact some of your schedules, and we apologize for this inconvenience.

Our tournament information on our website and communications is being updated to reflect the new date. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at: [email protected] or our event coordinators (contact information below).

We sincerely appreciate all of our members’ support for our Post’s Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament, one of our most important annual events of the year. Thank you to all of our registered players, our sponsors and our tournament volunteers. We look forward to seeing you on Monday, November 1.

COVID-19 Statement

The safety of all players and volunteers are of the highest priority. The Sacramento Post has altered the format of the tournament to comply with State/County mandated safety and social distancing requirements, including:

  • All participants are encouraged to wear masks while congregating around groups (e.g., during registration) and other public areas (e.g., club house, restrooms, snack bar, etc.).

  • Limited on-course games/contests at specified holes which can be done safely and with the players’ own equipment.

  • Registration and tickets for any item or event will require a separate ticket (i.e. raffle, mulligans, etc.) and will be handled online to the greatest extent possible.

  • Possible modified shotgun start that allows for more spacing between foursomes.

  • Modified on-course beverage ice chests/cooler distribution to maximize social distancing. Expanded beverage distribution through the use of single individuals operating beverage carts on the course.

  • Replaced the breakfast buffet with a boxed hot breakfast.

  • Outdoor lunch BBQ with required social distancing and limits on number of individuals being served at any time.

This year, the tournament awards and door prize winners will be announced as part of our virtual awards ceremony!

Prior to the event, all players and volunteers will be provided a detailed summary of COVID-19 safety guidelines and procedures that will need to be followed, as well as a detailed summary of the day's events.
