Governor Deal has scheduled a state of emergency ahead of Tropical Storm Hermine, scheduled to hit landfall in Florida sometime tonight. The declaration includes the following counties and includes many in District 149: Appling, Atkinson, Bacon, Ben Hill, Berrien, Brantley, Brooks, Bryan, Bulloch, Burke, Camden, Candler, Charlton, Chatham, Clinch, Coffee, Colquitt, Cook, Crisp, Decatur, Dodge, Echols, Effingham, Emanuel, Evans, Glynn, Grady, Irwin, Jeff D avis, Jefferson, Jenkins, Johnson, Lanier, Laurens, Liberty, Long, Lowndes, McIntosh, Mitchell, Montgomery, Pierce, Richmond, Screven, Seminole, Tattnall, Telfair, Thomas, Tift, Toombs, Treutlen, Turner, Ware, Wayne, Wheeler, Wilcox and Worth counties.

The state of emergency begins today at noon and ends on Saturday at midnight. Please stay safe and make sure to take necessary precautions- No one can negotiate with mother nature! Please join me in prayers for the safety of our Georgia citizens, public safety officials and all whom may be effected by the storm.
