INCLEMENT WEATHER CANCELLATIONS AND CLOSINGS

Due to the possibility of inclement weather, we have canceled Loaves & Fish lunch service at Warren UMC on Saturday, January 24, and Super Sunday voter registration drive at St. Luke on Sunday, January 25.

Hello, St. Luke Nation!

As inclement weather approaches, we pray that everyone is prepared to protect the Four Ps: people, pets, pipes, and plants. Because your safety is our primary concern, we have decided to cancel two events this weekend: our Loaves & Fish lunch service on Saturday at Warren UMC, and Super Sunday voter registration drive on Sunday at St. Luke.

Please watch for additional messages from St. Luke regarding other events and activities that we may need to cancel or postpone due to weather conditions. We are communicating via email, social media, Church Center, and our DialMyCalls system (which generates text messages, emails, and voice messages). Also, please pay attention to reliable local news sources for weather updates and developments in your community.

If you or someone you know needs assistance with shelter or other emergency services during bad weather, please contact the City of Dallas Office of Homeless Solutions or call the Housing Forward Homeless Crisis Help Line at 1.888.411.6802.

WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING?

Glad you asked!

Our Churchwide Leadership Summit begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 31, in the Sanctuary. Our own Arthur Gregg is guiding us on a special two-hour journey to "navigate the heart of leadership.” We’re confidently and boldly venturing beyond the shallows and going deeper, where DEEPER stands for “Dedication, Expectation, Exhortation, Participation, Education, Rejuvenation, and Rejoicing." (Yeah, good catch! We did add an extra--yet equally vital--"R" word.)

To ensure an accurate head count for refreshments and other accommodations, please register on Church Center by 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 28.

When the summit ends at noon, our Team on Nominations and Leadership Development will announce the 2026 Ed Patterson Servant Leader Awards recipients.

Learn more about how we did in 2025 and where we're going in 2026 and beyond during our annual State of St. Luke webinar on Zoom. It begins at 6:00 p.m. Monday evening, February 2. Towards the end of this one-hour presentation, we'll have time for questions.

YOU MUST PRE-REGISTER FOR THIS WEBINAR. THE REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 29, at 5:00 P.M.

After registering, you'll receive a confirmation email containing your unique personal link to the Zoom webinar. Please hang onto that email and Zoom link and don't share it with others. Following the webinar, we'll post a replay along with responses from the Q&A session.

Our annual 21-day Churchwide Prayer and Consecration continues through Saturday, January 31. Sign up on Church Center and get complete details, including access to the free study materials available on RightNow Media.

Through the end of this month, we have lots of opportunities to go deeper in our faith:

  • Pastor Butler leads Weekday Morning Prayer on Facebook Live at 7:14 a.m. every Monday through Friday
  • On Wednesday evenings, we continue studying with a one-hour session at 7:14 p.m. on Zoom
  • We close out the consecration a special celebration at 9:00 Saturday morning, January 31, in the Sanctuary

Be sure to download our handy Frequently-Asked Questions (FAQ) sheet and fasting guide.

Because of the prayer and consecration activities, our regularly-scheduled Wednesday and Friday morning prayer line is on break until February 4.

If you’ll be 70 years young in 2026, we want to honor you as a Senior Saint of Wisdom! To register, go to Church Center or call 214.821.2970. Anyone who is already 70+ but isn't already a Senior Saint is welcome to join the Class of 2026.

PLEASE REGISTER BY SATURDAY, JANUARY 31.

Buy your tickets to our annual Senior Saints of Wisdom luncheon, honoring the Class of 2026. This year's luncheon will be held at the Doubletree Hotel-Dallas Market Center, at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, February 21.

Everyone is welcome to attend. Tickets costs per person:

  • Senior Saints Class of 2026 (this year's inductees): complimentary
  • Alumni Senior Saints (past years' inductees): $30
  • Guests (friends, family, non-inducted seniors): $40

Pastor Butler and First Lady Min. Neisha Strambler-Butler are our keynote tag-team speakers. Jazz pianist Clay Davis is our special musical guest.
