BELLE CHASSE, LA, November 5, 2021 - The Belle Chasse Bridge and Tunnel Replacement Project will host two upcoming community engagement events in November to provide an update to Plaquemines Parish residents.
The events are open to the public. Attendees will be able to obtain information on the project in an open house style environment to allow for a more intimate, individual one-on-one experience. There will be exhibits displayed throughout the venues depicting the timeline for construction, current construction status of the new bridge, maintenance of the existing bridge and tunnel, and updates on Veterans Park.
Attendees will be able to walk around to various stations and interact with project staff while gathering information on project overview, design and construction, operations and maintenance, and park enhancements.
The first open house will take place on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 at the Belle Chasse Auditorium, located at 8398 LA-23 in Belle Chasse, Louisiana, followed by a second open house in Port Sulphur, Louisiana on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at the Port Sulphur Community Center, located at 278 Civic Drive. Both will run from 6p.m. to 8p.m.
“These meetings are something that the Plenary team wants to do to build better connections with the local community. We hope that residents will join us to learn more about the effort overall, and to understand the work that is presently underway in their area as well as upcoming work,” Plenary stated.
