Community Education Services Manager Bobbi Birkholz has been named the October 2024 recipient of the Anchored in the Laker Way Award. This monthly award celebrates Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools Community Education Services staff who are anchored in providing a strong foundation of community service, an innovative and supportive leader, a respectful team member, and committed to lifelong learning and excellence.
“Bobbi is committed to her job and goes beyond what I believe is her job requirement. She has been committed to organizing and putting on the Community Halloween Party for about 20 years. She takes pride in this day and I am sure spend hours working to make sure it comes together. She has to arrange for volunteers to come in and help and make sure the event will run smoothly. She gets supplies, makes sure there are games for all ages, sets up the visual of what the Haunted House will look like, and arranges the costume contest. Oh... let’s not forget about that darn Ice Cream! This is just a few things of what goes into it. I know there is much more. If you see her there she is running around like a crazy lady to make sure everyone has what they need. I know she has help as well with this, but I think if it was not for her it would not be as successful as it is. She loves the smiles of the kids and the thankfulness of the parents as they comment of all the fun they had as they leave with their bags of treats. She doesn't like to take the recognition as she deserves in this day, but she should. Yes, the Halloween party is a pretty big event, but this doesn't describe the person she is in her Community Ed role. Her dedication to Community Ed shows through her knowledge of all programs that are ran through CE. There are times after hours that I needed a question answered right away. She always makes herself available to help. She is dedicated to PLSAS and is proud to show her Laker Pride, as I see her in her own community rocking the Prior Lake-Savage attire.”
Please join us in congratulating Bobbi on this award!
