Who is Peak Military Care Network?
We recently uploaded a blog post introducing the community to PMCN and what we do. In case you're in need of a refresher, or you are new to us, we would love for you to check it out:

Hi! We are Peak Military Care Network, also known as PMCN. We are a non-profit in the Pikes Peak Region that connects service members, veterans and their families to the highest quality resources provided by our trusted community partners.

So, what does that mean exactly?

Military Spouse Career Coalition (MSCC)

The Military Spouse Career Coalition (Colorado Springs) provides a centralized source of information on local and national resources for spouses, best practices for employers, and the latest in legislative updates that impact spouse employment.

S.A.V.E. Training
This course was developed in collaboration with the Department of Veterans Affairs and is presented by Dr. Megan McCarthy, Deputy Director, Suicide Prevention. You will develop a general understanding of the problem of suicide in the United States; understand how to identify a Veteran who may be at risk for suicide; and, finally, know what to do if you identify a Veteran at risk. Each of us has the opportunity to be that one person who makes a difference–the person who asks the question that can save a Veteran’s life, or the life of anyone struggling with the thoughts of suicide. Using the simple steps of S.A.V.E., we can all make a difference and #BeThere.

April is the Month of the Military Child
Each year, April is set aside as a military child appreciation month, officially know as Month of the Military Child. With its start in the mid-1980s, the Pentagon and other military support organizations and agencies use the month to recognize military kids for their sacrifice and bravery on the homefront.
