Moving into 2022; A Message from the Incoming President
Molly Langford, MSN, CRNP
As I begin my tenure in January of 2022 as president, I would like to introduce myself to the members of PMDA. I am very excited to be leading an organization that I have belonged to since 2010 and am honored to be the first Nurse Practitioner elected as president.
As a nurse practitioner, I think I bring a fresh view to the role of president. Increasing the diversity of our membership across professions is a high priority for me. In partnership with the board, I also hope that our organization can shine a spotlight on the diversity of our patients and how best to meet the needs of everyone for whom we provide care.
The Covid-19 pandemic has brought many changes to PMDA, from how we provide education to challenges related to our financial support. In spite of the challenges, I also see this time as an opportunity to be creative and to build a stronger organization. I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all our PMDA members who have supported the organization during the most difficult 20 + months we have ever experienced in PALTC. I am proud to lead an organization that responded so quickly and so compassionately to the Covid-19 pandemic as it has transformed our care settings.
I look forward to getting to know you over the next two years and welcome your feedback and ideas for how we can continue to support our mission of “improvement of quality of care for Pennsylvania across the long-term care continuum.”
