Join other PNKS adults (18+ only, please) as we travel to Burnsville, NC to help rebuild homes damaged in flooding caused by Hurricane Helene in September of 2024. We will be working with The Fuller Center for Housing/Disaster ReBuilders (a partner of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance) doing light construction to insulate, drywall, install floors and doors, cabinets and vanities, trimming, and painting. Previous construction experience is not necessary.
The group will leave Salina on Saturday, 6/14/2025 and travel by van to Paducah, KY. We will overnight at the La Quinta Inn in Paducah and depart on Sunday for Burnsville. We will check into High Pastures Christian Retreat Center in Singing Waters Dorm upon arrival. Our work begins Sunday evening with an orientation, and introductions. We will work Monday through Friday afternoon, and depart Friday 6/20/2025 for Clarksville, TN. We will spend the night at the La Quinta in Clarksville and return to Salina on Saturday 6/21/2025.

Who: Anyone 18+ from PNKS churches…and their friends!
Cost: $600* per person – 2 person rooms
A $200 scholarship is available from PNKS for anyone who is a member of a PNKS church. We encourage member churches to also contribute 1/3 of the cost.

-Registration with The Fuller Center for Housing
-Transportation via 12-passenger van from Salina, KS to Burnsville, NC and back
-Lodging at the La Quinta Inn in Paducah, KY on 6/14 and in Clarksville, TN on 6/20
-Lodging at High Pastures Christian Retreat Center in Singing Waters Dorm in Burnsville, NC in sleeping bunks in shared rooms. Private rooms are not available.
-11 meals during our time in NC
What's not covered
-5 meals during travel and Wednesday dinner at a local restaurant
-any "extras" that you may purchase during travel or in NC
Background checks for all participants are required. You will be contacted by PNKS with more information after registration.
Itinerary
Saturday, June 14th – Depart Salina early morning and travel to Paducah, KY. Spend the Night at the La Quinta Inn in Paducah (Approx. 9 hours travel)
Sunday, June 15th - Depart Paducah early morning and arrive at Burnsville, NC High Pastures Christian Retreat Center before 5pm for dinner and orientation.
