GA Amendment Zoom Conversations
|
|
January Sessions will take place:
January 18, 2023 | 12:00pm - 1:00pm
January 26, 2023 | 7:00pm - 8:00pm
The 225th General Assembly (2022) of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) approved and recommended to the presbyteries, for their affirmative or negative votes, proposed changes in the language of the Book of Order that, if approved, will amend the Constitution. In November the Booklet with those 33 proposed amendments was emailed to clerks of session, minister members and others serving as moderators of sessions.
The Bills and Overture Task Force will present the proposed amendments in two groups at the February 7 and April 29 meetings of the presbytery. Those proposed amendments with tracking numbers 22-A through 22-BB will be presented at the February meeting and those with tracking numbers 22-CC through 22-GG deal with changes to the Rules of Discipline and will be presented at the April meeting. A block of 45 minutes will be allotted at each meeting and the proposed amendments will be presented in consent agendas. If the presbytery does not complete action on the proposed amendments in the allotted time an Adjourned Meeting will be called for Tuesday, June 6 to complete the work.
The Bills and Overture Task Force has scheduled Zoom conversations for those who would like to discuss the proposed amendments prior to the presbytery meetings.
To read more, download the Proposed Amendments, and register to attend the conversations, go to the Upcoming Events page on the PNKS website via the link below.

Clerks of Session Stat Chats
|
|
At the beginning of each year clerks of session are asked to complete and submit to the General Assembly statistical reports for their congregation. The presbytery also asks clerks to report on leadership in their congregation for the current year and the deaths in the previous year of those who had served as ruling elders. Stated Clerk Bob Frasier and the Clerks’ Reports and Record Review Committee (CR&RC) has scheduled four Stat Chats on Zoom to support clerks as they complete these online reports by the February 16 due date.
Clerks are encouraged to register for the chat that works best for their schedule, using the link below:
- 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 12
- 4:30 pm, Tuesday, January 17
- 12:00 Noon, Thursday, January 19
- 7:00 pm, Tuesday, January 24
It will be helpful for participants to review the material emailed on December 21 (or mailed about that time) and to login to and preview both the PCUSA and PNK websites prior to joining a Stat Chat.

Is God calling you to this ministry?
Authorized Pulpit Supplies
|
|
2023 Training begins on February 18th -- REGISTER NOW in order to get your assignment and have time to prepare for Session #1
Authorized Pulpit Supplies [APS] are individuals willing and able to share the Word of God on an occasional basis with members of other PNK congregations who find themselves with an empty pulpit for an upcoming worship service. APS fill pulpits on an as-needed basis at the invitation of individual Sessions, fulfilling their role as elders “to encourage the people in the worship and service of God.” THIS HAS BECOME AN URGENT NEED FOR OUR CONGREGATIONS THROUGHOUT PNK!
Might God be calling YOU to this ministry?

Come – join us for a few days as we gather (online and in person) to grieve the losses we have endured due to illness, fear, convenience, laziness, complacency, workaholism, and comparison. Jesus is calling us to rest – really rest. It is our hope that you will find rest and company during the Annual Event.
