Pastor's Participation Dues Unchanged for 2022
Board of Pensions Directors held the line on medical dues for Pastor’s Participation at 27 percent of effective salary for 2022, with no change to the minimum dues basis. As a result, total dues for Pastor’s Participation will remain at 37 percent of effective salary for the fifth consecutive year.

Pastor’s Participation is the comprehensive benefits package for ministers, fully employer-paid according to effective salary. It includes family medical coverage in the preferred provider organization (PPO), 27 percent; the Defined Benefit Pension Plan, 8.5 percent; Death and Disability Plan, 1 percent; and Temporary Disability Plan, 0.5 percent.

The Healthcare Committee recommended to the full Board of Directors that dues remain unchanged after a presentation by agency staff and Milliman Inc., the Board’s healthcare actuary.

PNKS Youth Work Camp!
Youth are invited to participate in the Presbytery of Northern Kansas’ Youth Work Camp at Heartland Center from August 1-6, 2021. It includes the work camp, fun activities at Heartland Center, and a one-day visit to Worlds of Fun. Youth who have completed fifth grade through those who have completed twelfth grade are eligible to participate. We also need adult volunteers to accompany our Presbytery leaders on the trip.
The cost per youth is $255. The Presbytery will pay one-third of each youth’s fee ($85). We encourage churches that are able to pay one-third of the fee, as well ($85). That means youth could pay as little as $85 for this whole week of fun!!

Please find the registration form and liability release below. All materials, including payment, must be received ASAP -- we are still accepting registrations for our final spots but space is limited so register today.

Newest Additions in the Resource Center
NOW is a good time to be planning for your church's 2021-2022 STEWARDSHIP programs. Here are just a few resource ideas from your PNK Resource Center to help you get started.

This six-part study, adapted from the best-selling Freed-up Financial Living curriculum from Good Sense, provides the text and tools you need to address the topics of saving, earning, giving, spending, and debt, along with helpful strategies for achieving a sustainable financial life. Includes a Leader Guide containing session plans, outlines, discussion questions; Clergy Workbook; a DVD containing 9 sessions for the participant/clergy study, to complement a 40-day devotional.

The study offers a weekly reading accompanied by seven days of challenges in the forms of self-assessment, journaling, and prayer. After 28 days, members of the group study are encouraged to embrace a life-giving journey toward generosity and provided a road map on how to get there. The supplementary DVD sparks discussion and the leader helps in the back of the book allow anyone to lead the group. A devotional is also available.
KITCHEN TABLE GIVING by William G. Enright

In 6 chapters, the reader is invited to recognize that congregation members are already talking about money and that they both want and need spiritual guidance. Seeking to help spiritual leaders understand how to be a part of this kitchen table conversation, Enright leads the reader through his assessment of what makes for joyful giving inspiring them to consider their own ministry and that of their congregation from the vantage point of joyful giving.

Written by ten pastors, seminary professors, and church leaders, this resource offers a diverse and holistic approach to stewardship. Readers will learn how they can faithfully and practically discuss and engage with stewardship on a regular basis. This book includes questions for reflection and applications for life together at the end of each chapter. Copeland adds a special section with biblical references and preaching themes at the end of the book.
