Hikes.

The weather is heating up here in the Pacific Northwest! With heat advisory warnings in the forecast, I knew this was going to be a hot one. I began my hike around 9 am and it took me longer than expected to reach the summit - almost 3 hours! My pack was heavy from carrying extra water and it was HOT. Along the way, there were thousands of bear grass in bloom, one of my favorite plants, and I had to stop to take pictures. Lots of pictures..... I have hiked this trail many times in the past and have never seen anything like this... it was magical. At the top, there is a lookout tower perched on huge granite rocks - the perfect place to have a snack, and more water! It took me another 3 hours to get down because the views of Rainier were so captivating. Such a fun, beautiful, sweaty, adventure! 10/10 recommend!
