Hikes.

Annette Lake is a magical place... if you can get there. The last 2 times I attempted this hike, I unfortunately did not make it to my destination - due to weather conditions. This trail can be really dangerous in the winter (I got lost) and spring (avalanches). And although these situations may have put me out of my comfort zone, I was determined to try again. I had hiked to this lake a few summers ago and remembered how gorgeous it was. So this week, I set out on an adventure with one of my friends and we made it! The weather was great and had the best time soaking up the sun while enjoying the stunning alpine views!

With 9 locations in the PNW, Homegrown is definitely one of my favorite places to grab healthy vegan options. This week, while on my way home from work, I stopped at Homegrown in Redmond and picked up a Vegan Za’atar Smashed Chickpea Sandwich. It's made with chickpeas, shredded beets, avocado, cucumbers, pickled red onions, cilantro, tahini & farm greens. It came with a side salad which was also delicious! In addition to serving amazing food, Homegrown believes in “Growing with Purpose,” ensuring their menu items are sustainably sourced, ingredient by ingredient, farm by farm, and choosing what is best for all - people, animals, and the land. They believe that as their business grows, their positive environmental impact should too... How awesome is that! Happy to support!
