WOW. Just wow. I started my summer here and ended my summer here. Except for this time, there was no snow at Snow Lake and I went all the way to Gem Lake. Again, wow. The water is so unbelievably crystal clear in these alpine lakes... and on a nice day, the reflections are remarkable. But that's not all, the path to get here is beautiful as well! This trail was actually closed for several weeks this season [for maintenance] and recently reopened, so of course, I had to go check it out! Shout out to all of the wonderful volunteers who put their hard work and sweat into making this magical place even better than it was before. If you haven't been to Snow and Gem Lakes, I highly recommend going on an adventure here... It's amazing!!

MEET MADISON

"Currently I am a senior at Oregon State University and plan to graduate in the Spring of 2023. My first goal is to complete my Bachelors in Human Development and Family Sciences with a 3.7 or higher gpa. After college I want to pursue a job in wildland firefighting. This job is very physically demanding so I am working on my functional strength to help with the job. My goal is to pass all the physical tests and make it into wildland firefighting. A personal goal of mine is to limit my media use and do things that better my mental health. I really enjoy reading, hiking, playing soccer, and journaling but never find myself doing these things enough. I would like to start setting days away from my phone and just enjoy these activities."
